Honestly I should’ve bought this kit first. It has everything down to the thermometer. Very easy to go by. It was all packaged nicely in the box. These candles are Lavender scented w/ lavender herbs I already had. The pics are 4oz tin cans and a small rose mold and this was with 1lb of soy wax 2bags. It melted smoothly and quickly. Thermometer is easy to read. I researched a lot of YouTube videos and found it easy. I let it reach to about 185 F degrees, removed from the double boiler and stirred in the oil of my choice and the color of my choice. I poured the whole bottle since it’s less than a full Oz of liquid. Stirring is VERY important. Stir gently for about 2-3 min or until the dye is melted all the way. Then at 145-150 F I poured to the cans. I read that at this temp it helps to reduce any sink holes if you pour too hot.

This set is a good starter set and has great instructions. The containers that came for the candles were not very good quality and dented easily. The soy wax was great and there was enough coloring included to last a long time. Not so with the wicks. There are just enough for the four candles included. The same with the oils. I loved the silicone finger cots and use them all the time with my glue gun! For everything you get, this is a sweet little kit.

Honestly, this was an impulsive, Covid-is-driving-me-crazy-so-I'll-try-crafting buy, so I was pretty nervous that I was in way over my head... but I made this candle within 15 minutes of opening the box! It was crazy easy! It comes with a ton of different colors and 4 different scents, as well as some decorations, which I didn't expect. As a new DIY-er, it was really fun and definitely was a confidence booster. I made 4 big candles to give out as Christmas presents and I still have plenty of wax left to make more. Super happy with this kit!

Este kit de fabricación de velas me ha parecido una opción sencilla y práctica para iniciarse en este tipo de manualidades. Incluye lo básico para poder empezar sin complicaciones y con instrucciones fáciles de seguir, lo cual se agradece si nunca antes has probado a hacer velas. Los moldes y la cera cumplen su función y permiten obtener resultados aceptables desde el primer intento. Sin embargo, hay algunos detalles que no me convencieron del todo. Por ejemplo, los tintes sólidos que trae el kit no se disuelven bien en la cera, lo que hace que el color final no quede uniforme y, en mi caso, he preferido no volver a usarlos. También eché en falta ciertos materiales que habría esperado en un set de iniciación, como más variedad de aromas o utensilios adicionales que faciliten el proceso. En general, es un kit útil para aprender y experimentar, pero si se busca un resultado más profesional o completo, probablemente se necesiten materiales extra. Creo que con un poco más de variedad y mejor calidad en los tintes sería una opción mucho más recomendable. Aun así, para dar los primeros pasos en el mundo de las velas caseras, está bastante bien.

I had never made a candle before, but our family had decided to make gifts this year instead of buying. This kit turned out to be a nice one. The soy melted nicely. I bought a big mug to put the candle in and braided leather strands around the handle. That did cause a problem because the wicks included were for the 4 oz jars they included. I bought additional longer ones. I also wanted more of a mixed scent and bought some additional oils that were a bit subpar, but okay for a first try. But the candle set well, so I was happy. I had enough wax left to make one of their small jar candles too, and that came out well. This kit really has everything you need to wet your toes in candle making. I would recommend it.

This was an easy to use kit. Wasn’t completely happy that one of the fragrances leaked all over everything to the point I wasn’t able to use that fragrance at all because there was so little in the bottle. The candles smell great until you burn them then the scent is very weak. And it’s not an even burn even with the wick centered. Maybe it’s the tin. I don’t know. Plus look at the pic. I’ve never seen a candle look like this after it cools. I’m going to put it on my wax warmer to melt all the wax and see how it does after it cools. I’ll update soon.

I at first was very nervous about buying this item due to a few negative reviews I have read BUT I wanted to try making my own candles and didn’t want to buy everything separately so I searched for kits and I’m 100% happy with everything in this kit. The scents are amazing and didn’t break or leak at all! They give so many colors (more then I thought). Everything looks like great quality and I can’t wait to make a video on it! YouTube: Emily Bachmann the only complaint is that the scents smell so good and I tried searching for the exact scents from the same brand and I could not find them which is a bummer because I typically don’t like most of the essential oils but these are truly amazing and are the clean, fresh scents that I do like! They also say to use a whole bottle which is sad because I can’t find their scents anywhere! But besides that I’m more then excited and very happy with this purchase!

This is a great way to see if you'll enjoy candlemaking without investing heavily into the tools or equipment. The wicks tunnel inside the candle tins (wick is slightly too small for the container size), but that's probably best for a beginner kit. A too-small wick is much safer than one that is too large. I've expanded my hobby since getting. This kit, but I still find the wax melting pitcher and thermometer useful.
