  • It’s not the wicks fault you don’t know how to properly make candles
First of all, the reviews with candles full of flower petals, herbs, spices, etc saying that the wicks don’t burn right are because candles are not meant to have solids in them. They clog the wick and keep it from burning properly. Use those items in soap, not candles. #2- one wick = 1-2 inches of diameter of candle wax pool. You put a single wood wick in a 3” candle you will get a 2” pool of wax down the center and the sides will not melt. Candle science 101. You need to size your wicks for your container size and shape. The thickness of these wicks makes doubling them in each clip easy yet I prefer to space them in the candle in a triangle on anything over 3 1/2 inches. Keep them trimmed to 1/4” and you will be good to go. Soaking them in wax does help with the crackle. You must use candle wax with candle coloring and candle fragrance oil. Essential oils, perfume, crayons, old pillar and taper candles, free standing candles etc all burn differently and will effect how and if your candle stays lit and burns properly. It astounds me that someone will take 6 old candle remnants and add two crayons for color, sprinkle in some dried flowers and then pour it into a 4 inch jar with one wick and then blame the wick for not burning properly! If making candles was that easy then the good ones wouldn’t be $30! There is a lot of research and trial and error to it! Don’t knock the products you use when you are the one using them incorrectly!!! If you want to make candles and don’t want to research the correct way to do it, buy a kit. ... show more

  • Perfection!
I was worried about how this wick would work because of so many people saying that the wick just goes out right away and doesn't burn well, but I figured I'd try it anyways and see for myself! And I'm excited to say that these wicks burn beautifully! I used two of them together, dipped them in the melted wax that I was using for my candles, let them cool, then poured my wax in after centering the wicks how I wanted them! I let this candle burn for 15 minutes just to see how it would last. The flame never went out, and it has that nice crackly sound that I was hoping for! This was my first time making a candle and it couldn't have been easier with these wicks! ... show more

  • They look pretty They look pretty
The wicks arrived quickly and I like they add the stickers. However, the soy candles I made with them the wicks don’t burn for long. I am not sure if it is my candle making cause I just got started or it’s the wicks themselves. The wicks do look very pretty but unfortunately, don’t burn. I don’t know if I should recommend you purchase these or not because as I mentioned before these are the first wicks I have used. Hopefully, I don’t have to throw away the rest and figure out how to make them work. ... show more

  • Simple design and easy to use
Arrived quickly. Simple design and easy to use. Good value. I read reviews about the flame being too big so I split the wick in half longways. It worked out very well and makes a nice even flame. I made a quick candle with reused beeswax from a candle that butned down the cloth wick fast. I added a little coconut oil hoping it would help the candle burn more evenly this time. The wood wick is nice. ... show more

  • Not A Great Choice Not A Great Choice
I was very optimistic about these wooden wicks, very easy to assemble but getting the wick to burn is a different story. I made one candle to experiment and see if it was worth using as a permanent supply. There is no crackle from this wooden wick and very hard to light. The flame will continuously go out and you have to relight. The smell is a smell of wood burning not the scent of the candle. Not impressed and will not buy again. Great concept, but not what I'm looking for to produce my luxury candle line. ... show more

  • Very underwhelmed - no crackle, hard to light
While the stand makes these super easy to use in candle making, I was very underwhelmed when I went to light the first one. So hard to get it to stay lit. Maybe there is some instruction I missed. I have purchased crackling wick candles and loved them. This did not give the crackling effect I was used to. I honestly don’t hear a thing. Still cute and still technically works after you spend several minutes lighting and re lighting to get that little flame to stay going. ... show more

  • No need to question yourself, just buy it No need to question yourself, just buy it
I had spent so much time researching what wick to use with my beeswax candles in a medium mason jar and I was so overwhelmed with all of the choices out there. But this one works beautifully! It is in the jar with the 3" mouth and it is perfect. I did dip the wick in the melted beeswax twice before I actually poured the wax, but I didn't let it soak in any other oil or anything like that. It makes a beautiful light and a lovely crackling sound. I am in love ... show more

  • Can't complain at the price
If you want a higher quality wick that will be perfect in such a large quantity... Spend more. If you're looking for a cheap wick that gets the job done, this one is great. I've used both a single and a double and honestly haven't had any issues. Two does definitely make a larger flame. 100%. I have to light it about 2 or 3 times, in the beginning, to get it going. Not an issue for me. I don't prime mine, either so they're very easy to use. For $10 I'm not sure why this isn't a minimum of 4.5 stars. Seriously, what did you expect?? Ignore the complainers. These are great. ... show more
