This is hardy/durable, which is very useful for those airline luggage guys who heave bags around as a sport. In luggage, you get what you pay for. Are there cheaper choices? Yes, but they break or wear out quickly.

There is a lot to love about this suitcase. First it comes well wrapped- even the zippers are protected by hard plastic slip-on covers. That makes it feel expensive. There is some stuffing in the pockets, and very heavy duty tags. Next- the pockets! There are a TON of places to put things in this suitcase and that is the real plus. It has a removable valuables heavy plastic pocket that snaps on inside, it has shoe covers, a snap in garment bag, more outside pockets then I can imagine using- and convenient ones that will hold a cell phone and ID for going through security. The suitcase is deep. My one complaint is that it is a bit narrower than the carry-on it is replacing. I measured and it is about two inches narrower, but that's a good deal of space. I am keeping it, though, because I think for shorter trips it will be worth the organization and efficiency. It is a bit longer (almost an inch) but the wheels spin and they should, when sideways, take the same amount of space (meaning it will fit overhead in even those terrible tiny overheads). I typically load in one of the first groups, so even if it needs to go sideways it will fit. I have not yet tested it fully packed and rolling, but I travel a week a month so will do so soon. This review isn't just about the bag itself – it's about Travelpro's catastrophic failure in customer support for anyone living, working, or traveling outside the United States. If you're an international customer, or plan to be, you need to read this before you make a costly mistake, because you could end up with a useless bag! Let's be 100% clear: Travelpro refuses to ship spare parts outside the US, even if the bag is under warranty, and even if you offer to cover the cost for the spare parts and the shipping fees, they will flat out refuse you! This isn't just inconvenient; it's a fundamental flaw that renders their warranty and their products useless for a significant portion of the global population. The bag is not cheap either. I speak from infuriating personal experience. While on an international trip, my Travelpro Platinum Elite 25-inch bag got damaged in transit. You'd think a premium travel brand would stand by its product, right? Wrong. I sent 10 emails trying to explain the situation and convince them to help. Their response was always the same: a refusal to ship any parts outside the US. Imagine being stranded with a broken, unusable bag and the company literally telling you they won't do anything. This company clearly does not care about the people who actually use their products around the world. While the bag's build quality isn't terrible, it has a significant design flaw that speaks to a lack of practical user testing. The main interior cover pocket opens downwards. If you lean the bag's lid against a wall (as most people do when packing or unpacking especially while in a hotel), opening this pocket means everything inside will spill out onto the floor. It's a minor annoyance compared to the spare parts debacle, but it's indicative of a company that doesn't fully understand real-world travel needs. If you are an international traveler, or if you ever leave the US, do yourself a massive favor and look elsewhere. Make sure they offer an international warranty and actually stand behind it. Because Travelpro does not! I even have a YT vid entitled Travelpro 25in Platinum Elite Expandable Softsided Spinner Luggage Review, and I list reasons why you should avoid this bag anyway, but that review was before I experienced their appalling international customer service. This company needs to rethink its global strategy, or frankly, get out of the international market entirely. Until they fix this glaring, anti-customer policy, they deserve every penny they lose. Save your money, save your sanity, and buy from a company that actually supports its customers worldwide. ... show more
