  • A good series of books.
Format: Kindle
Wisteria Witches: Zara Riddle moves to a small town to raise her teen daughter in a quiet place. But it turns out their family tree is riddled with magic. This book launches a new series about witches who didn't know they were witches. Something should have kept the main character into the town being different considering most of it was blocked on Google maps and other mapping software so you couldn't see it unless you visited it. The main character moves into a house and the story begins and by the end everything makes sense. Because I can't. The main character is developing depth throughout the story and hopefully the other characters can start to develop some depth as well. We understand the backstory more by the end of the book and I have a feeling there's a few things the author hasn't revealed yet. What if you found out you're a witch or a wizard? What would you do? Especially if you could tap into spiritual help? These are the very questions answered in this book. Wicked Wisteria: When someone erases the words from the town's books, Zara conjures a magical creature to restore the text. But magic has a mind of its own. It's a good story with some surprises in it. I'm glad this is part of a box set because honestly after reading this story I may not have gone on to read the third book in the series. I just wasn't into this story. It could be for a variety of reasons, including a lot of things happening around me while I was listening to it, so I wasn't fully focused on it as normal. It's a good story and honestly it teaches people to look at their blind spots. The authors definitely set the stage for a much more expanded universe than just a few books. I've heard there's actually 16 books in this series and I only have the first eight. Hmm… during the story we follow the main author as they begin to develop their skills and to learn why you need to do the basic lessons. It is so hard for westerners to do the basic stuff because they want everything now instead of actually doing the work. Oh well. Wisteria Wonders: Zara's moody shifter neighbor runs hot and cold like a broken faucet. What's his deal, anyway? Lot's and lots of revelations in this book. You would better hold on to your seat and make sure your seat belts are fastened because this book reveals a lot. We learn way more of what's happening in wisteria and what's been happening in the main character's life. I knew from the beginning not everything was as it appeared and after reading this book or listening to this book in this case I was right. Let's see where the author goes with the next book because this book is a pivot moment and a game changer. Watchful Wisteria: Zara rescues an injured animal from the woods and gets a lot more than a new pet. We have a saying in my family which simply goes: don't believe someone's dead until you're holding the body. This is definitely an interesting book that proves that statement true. We learned who the mystery voice was on the other end of the phone in the last book. We learn everyone's powers in this book. We learned that people don't always do what we believe they will do. The author definitely keeps everything jumping and moving which makes this a good series. We get to learn more about the main characters and we get to learn more about family. The question is, isn't the family we're born with or the family we choose. Wisteria Wyverns: A trip up the coast to Castle Wyvern brings Zara face-to-face with the last person she ever expected to see. In the last story we met the main character's father and know you know who we're going to meet in this story. I hope you have your two bottles ready for catching magical beans in them because you're going to need them for this story. More Revelations. Keep coming out and once more we're reminded to take off the blinders. It is only by taking off the blinders that we can see what totally happened in front of us, which is what a certain wolf boy learns in this story or is it the main character? Wolves of Wisteria: Secrets revealed are trouble unsealed. It's nice to get some of the backstory for wisteria before Zora arrived. We're starting to get a look into why Zinnia is so closed off and why she's trying to teach Zora to control her magic. It's a good story and it's giving us a peek into what is really happening. It's not just a simple tone where some people have magic abilities and other people have magical abilities. It's more of people waking up to abilities, kept dormant by something and hopefully by the end of the series we know what is kept then dormant. Wisteria Wrinkle: Aunt Zinnia and her best friend discover the origin of several town secrets. Well, you should be able to figure out from the name what this story is about and it's nice to see Zinnia doing something without her niece. Honestly, this was a good story which continues from a previous story and we learn a lot more about the city hall workers. We learn the history of what's been happening in ... show more

  • Housework on hold!
Format: Kindle
I love to read & when I find a book (or series) that I enjoy everything gets put on hold-dishes & laundry stack up, suppers are on your own ect. This series has murder, mystery, mischief & mayham. Then magic is added to the mix. I love the fact that a teenage daughter is part of the story because that is not common yet is done so seamlessly. The characters are brought to life so well with real life emotional situations that it draws you in wanting to be part of their life. I also enjoy the author notes afterwards, not only entertaining but gives you glimpses of how the stories are thought of. Well done with lots of humor thrown in so it's fun to read! ... show more

  • Magic Everywhere
Format: Kindle
I loved each of the books. They were well written, held my interest, and presented magic throughout each one, except for Zara's daughter. All characters carried over to the next book but with a new mystery to solve. Grab a copy for sheer resding enjoyment.

  • Addicting!
Format: Kindle
Cozy Witch Mysteries is such a great boxset full of addicting books! Zara is by far one of the funniest, full-of-life characters I've read about, and it's so hard to put these books down. It's a definite case of "one more chapter" syndrome, but then, after you finish one, you've just gotta read the next one, to find out her next adventure. I'm not going to lie, I could've done without books 6&7-- the books from Zinnia's POV. They do provide backstory on Zara's Aunt Zinnia through the events of the first five books, but they weren't my favorite and for me, personally, really hard to get through, so I'm really glad book 8 is back to Zara's POV. Can't wait to read book #9!! ... show more

  • Never a dull moment!
Format: Kindle
It probably took me 10 days and nights to finish reading these 8 books. They are addictive. I would read until my battery died and then sleep for awhile, and pick up my tablet to read some more. From one book to the next, I just had to know what happened next to this crazy witch and her family and friends. Angela writes with humor and imagination. Quite a trip, I cannot wait to get the next two books. Thank you for keeping me company and very entertained. ... show more

  • Buy this box, now.
Format: Kindle
I never expect much from the $1 books. You get what you pay for, right? But this is great stuff. Once I finished the set, I immediately bought the next book. And the next. And the next. Could the characters have more depth? Yes. But this is a cozy, it's fine. The characters are fine. The town is super sweet. The romance is not what I expected (should add an extra star just for that!) and the family is amazing. I was a bit disappointed when the author switched POV in book... 6? But I got over it quick, not a big deal. All Riddle women are worth following! ... show more
