Bought this in August of 2024. Have used it steadily for 1.5 years now. Cools and heats a 900sqft open shop. It does a good job. I have not had any issues with it what-so ever. Installation was not too hard. The Install direction are just okay - but I managed. My unit is 208-240V. For the cost - it was really a bargain. I would recommend to anyone that is a DIY type person. Having a HVAC tech install it would have really upped the affordability. So far - it has been a good unit. My thanks to the supplier/vendor for the reasonable price and quick shipping. ... show more

    • Absolutely worth every penny. Don't get fooled by being one of the "cheapest" units.

It has performed great for a couple of months. I was concern that the noise from the outside unit would be high because we set it right outside on our bedroom . To my surprise, the outside unit is almost silent. We've had multiple 100+ degree weather almost all month and the unit has preformed great! we keep it at 74. Anything lower makes the room too cold, yep is that good. The only downside, is the remote. The instructions are not very clear specially when trying to set the timer. That is is the only down side. But other than that, we are very happy with the purchase so far. Installation was standard, meaning nothing different from every other unit, brand or size. For the installation you will multiple additional tools. but again, this goes for every other unit regardless of the brand etc. The air flow form the inside unit is great. The install and set up was a breeze due to the detailed instructions and it has a video walk through instructions as well. I love the unit and it performed perfectly until the schraeder valve, used for pulling a vacuum, failed leaking the R32 refrigerant Freon out slowly causing the unit to quit heating or cooling due to low refrigerant. I’m in contact with cost way now trying to resolve the issue. I do not blame the manufacturer because it is a small valve that is common failure point on all units not just theirs. ... show more

We’ve had these in for about two months. We chose mini splits because the house we bought had outdated baseboard heating and no central AC. Our house is 1200 sq feet and we purchased two of these. (One for the end of the hallway and one for the main living area. They are AWESOME. SO affordable for us as first time homebuyers. The installation wasn’t hard once you get the hang of it. My husband did these with some help. You do have to know your way around wiring and using a hvac vacuum. We are in the North and it’s gotten into the 20’s so far and they’ve done great. The remote doesn’t do much beyond change the temperature it seems. However I should mess with it some more. I’ve barely seen a difference in my electric bill!!!! Which is amazing. Since we have one at the end of the hallway to keep all the rooms warm/cold, I do tend to run a box fan just to keep the air flowing better down the hall. You can’t hear the indoor unit running. We are really happy to have found these. These DO come with “whips” to connect to the disconnect box outside and they do seem decent quality. We already had our own so used those. The drain hose seems flimsy so you may want to use your own pvc pipe. Thanks for reading! ... show more

When I first got this mini split hooked up, I rushed here to write a glowing review. I was overly impressed with it, and how well it worked in my application. But that's where the good things stop. about a week later, the vanes that move side to side, stopped working. I looked into it, and the arm that moves them, came disconnected. I snapped them back together, but within the first couple movements, they disconnected again. Clearly an issue. Especially for something I didn't have very long. I contacted Cost Way through their Facebook page, and got a response from them. I explained the issue, and I was told to record a video, documenting the issue. So, I did. It was clear as day, that the cheap plastic arm, failed. Whomever I was speaking to, said they would make a ticket for the issue and someone would contact me on how to move forward. low and behold... Here I am a month later, and no one has contacted me. now, I'll be the first to admit that the unit still works. However. If there is ZERO support for something so minor... What do you think you will get when something major happens? After initial purchase, parts, labor to have it installed, it cost me just over $1800 bucks. After all that money spent, I have a unit that won't move air side to side, after one week. That's absurd. It just goes to show, that saving a few bucks isn't always the best route to take. I don't expect that I'll hear anything from them, and that right there tells me that once they have your money, they don't care. So, my advice is.... Stay away from them. For me, at least my unit still cools. But for the next person that has a much bigger issue... They will be in trouble. It's just not worth it to do business with a company that flat out doesn't care. They could have made minimal effort, corrected the issue.. And my glowing review would still be here. But now we know what happens when you have an issue. ... show more
