Great little unit, installed it on my own. Bought the wall hanger , the metal awning, a vacuum pump, AC disconnect box (unfused), a 20Amp breaker, THHN 12GA wire, 3" hole saw, 1" hole saw and a 6' whip with it. Ran a dedicated power line in EMT (Home Depot). Total investment was in the neighborhood of $850 and 14 hours of labor. Note that this unit DOSEN'T COME WITH A MOUNTING TEMPLATE! That means you're on your own to locate the three inch hole to pass the tubing and the wiring through your wall. Good luck with that, you're gonna need it! The compressor took a few minutes to kick on the first time, it kind of scared me thinking that maybe I had done something wrong but everything worked out okay. It seems to hold the room temperature pretty accurately. I'd buy it again. ... show more

I bought it in November for my 625 Sq Ft detached garage that I fully insulated. I installed the mini split myself without an electrician or an HVAC professional. It’s in the single digits and below 0 degrees F now and it’s been amazing. It is a few degrees off, but performs really well, and seems to be very efficient. I keep it set at 61 degrees in the winter in my garage and another thermostat shows it is about 59 degrees in here. If I turn it up to 70, the separate thermostats shows about 67 degrees F. I bought this unit early September when the TX heat was in the mid 90"s.. I did several online videos of the installation process. My main concern was ensuring the pipes were tight. Installation was completed. A vacuum was pulled for the allotted time, and and leakage test was done, all was good. I fired up the unit and oh my, the cold air filled the room. I had two windows units and have since removed them. This thing blows the windows units away. I ordered another one in October and the weather is in the 40"s. I used the heat function and it does very well. I am totally satisfied. Now, how long will they last only time will tell. I will perform Quarterly maintenance on the filters and do a through cleaning every 6 months. I can say so far I am satisfied. ... show more

Be aware that Costway has one of the worst customer support ratings out there. Additionally there is no technical support provided for mini splits, etc type items. Your basically on your own if your $600 mini split doesnt work. You will pay expensive shipping for return as well. They sent me a used unit that did not include enough refrigerant (R32) in the system so no cooling or heating. Having to pay a technician to hopefully get it running but no guarantees. Will not buy any Costway products in the future. They should rename the company to Goodluck! ... show more

We are very impressed with the unit. It will be used in a fully insulated workshop. The unit it self was well packaged and contained everything needed for a normal install. Because our winters can go from very mild and hardly any snow to a brutally cold, 10+ inches of snow, we decided to have the compressor unit elevated about a foot off the ground. Our HVAC contractor was very familiar with this make and had highly recommended it. The install was straight forward and we had no problems with the initial install. We did experience a problem with the unit holding pressure. We contacted the seller and they responded quickly and stood behind the unit. We are very pleased with the support and the final fix.
