Installed in a RV as a backup should AC fail or in extreme heat situations. Current draw is less than 10 A, which allows it to run with our other installed unit on a 30 A circuit. While we've not had warm enough weather to thoroughly test its cooling capability, it does put out quite cold air. The dual hose feature, while bulky, does improve it efficiency dramatically by not pulling hot air into the living space to cool the compressor (recommend adding the insulating "socks" to the hoses). We did have to modify the window panel to fit in the odd-shaped RV windows, but nothing some simple carpentry couldn't fix. It is considerably quieter than the installed AC and therefore, if capable of cooling our RV alone, will become a preferred solution. ... show more

I bought this unit for my upstairs bedroom. I have a pretty decent size room and it cool off very fast. Easy setup and don’t have to worry about falling off the window. I used to have a window unit need to take on and off by scratching my window. Also, it does not take a lot space and don’t make a lot noisy, that is best part. Fedex delivered this upside down, even with the box being covered in huge arrows showing the proper orientation. Everything seems fine, i unboxed and it sat there for about a week before i hooked it up. The unit seems to being running fine, have not used it much yet. There is a slight vibration when the compressor turns on, and the exhaust tube makes slight noise, not sure if its from the ridges of the tube or the fact the exit bracket flares completely to the top side, meaning the half the air hits a wall before tapering off into the rectangular exhaust shape. I made a custom enclosure for the window insert for a better seal, i also purchased a 3yr extended warranty for this unit. update i had for over a year, and the ac does work, but the thermostat on it is horrible, it will never turn off or never turn on depending on the situation. If the compressor hasnt turned on in awhile the thermostat will stop reading the temp of the room, and i have to switch to fan and watch the temp rise on the readout, then switch back to cool. example: came home from work, the room with ac is 82 degrees and the ac is set to 70 switch to fan and its says 68, then it climbs to 80 over a few seconds, switch back to cool, then the ac will run fine for as long as it takes to cool room, and will turn back on if the temp raises, if the temp does not raise, then the above happens. ... show more

    • Doesn't fit stated window sizes
The instructions say "use the main panel AND one or BOTH of the extension panels". However this does not cone with the shorter extension panel other portable AC units include.l, and even it's own instructions imply there should be. As such I could not fit this in my 36" window without considering sawing the one extension panel and gambling that you don't have any problems that would require a warranty return to be rejected because of the modification. There's probably a good +/- 5" of similar window sizes this won't fit without the missing extension panel. I tried calling their customer support, say through a 5 minute message about shipping times, then finally when it seemed I would get to a queue to even begin waiting for someone to answer, it said they were closed. If you're closed don't put that message behind a five minute message. Telephony fail. ... show more
