Never having used a portable unit, it was a learning process as some of the directions were not real clear. We knew what needed to be done, just not quite how to go about doing it. This portable A/C was easy to set up but like others said, the part that goes across the window needs to be cut. It does cool well in a small area, so much so that I ordered another one. Here is my problem: when I filled out the online warranty I got the message that my order number doesn't exist. I sent Costway a message with a photo of the order on Amazon as well as one of the form with the message. Now they want a video of me filling out the form but my camera is not working. Opportunity to complete it ends tomorrow. If this thing stops working, I am out of luck. Consider this if ordering ... show more

I tried it out, and the sound wasn't very loud. It also looks great, doesn't take up much space, and has wheels on the bottom for easy movement to different locations. I'm very satisfied with this purchase!
