Description

Add a tropical feel to indoor spaces with a welcoming Peace Lily from Costa Farms, featuring lush, dark green leaves and charming, white flowers on tall stems floating above the foliage. The easy-care Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) is a perfect gift for birthdays, anniversaries, and any other special celebration. It's a wonderful addition to tabletops, desks, and credenzas in your home or office, and this humidity loving houseplant is also great for adding to a low-light bathroom. This Peace Lily comes in a 6-inch grower's pot, ready for you to add to your own planter. Growing up to 36 inches tall and wide when mature (plant height is 20 to 24 inches at delivery), the Peace Lily produces white flowers on and off throughout the year when grown in medium- or high-light spots. It's also been scientifically proven to remove common harmful VOCs from the air — including formaldehyde, benzene, and xylene. Place your Peace Lily in a low, medium, or bright spot protected from hot or cold drafts. It will tolerate low-light conditions well, but won't bloom much. Water enough to keep the potting mix moist, but not wet or soggy. The plant will wilt dramatically when it gets too dry, but its leaves pop back quickly after it gets moisture. Give your Peace Lily a humidity boost by growing it in a kitchen or bathroom, placing a small humidifier nearby, or grouping it nearby other houseplants (which release moisture into the air as they breathe). Fertilize two or three times per year with a general-purpose houseplant fertilizer. Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 50 degrees F (10 degrees C). I love the Peace Lily plant. Not only are they pretty when they bloom (and the blooms are generally long lasting), but for me, they have been really easy to care for. I do not have a green thumb when it comes to plants, and oftentimes, when I am taking care of plants, even when it seems like I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing correctly, the plant ends up succumbing to an early death for reasons unknown. The Peace Lily is one plant that, despite my not ever following directions as to appropriate care (at least based upon the instructions that came with this plant), I have managed to keep happy, blooming, disease free and alive for years until just recently, when I forgot to water it and it died off. So I wanted to replace that original peace lily plant with another one - in part because I missed having such a cooperative plant, but I also liked the pot I had mine in and wanted to reuse it for another plant in the same place. So I purchased this plant from Amazon. It arrived really in very good overall condition. Shipping time took about a week (Florida to New Jersey and over a weekend) - and when it arrived and I opened it up, the new peace lily was in bloom, though the blooms were about done for and already browning out. The plant only had one dead leaf on it though, but everything else to do with it was thriving, though a bit out of shape, having been shipped from around a thousand miles away. The packaging of this plant for shipping was amazing - it's pot was wrapped tightly in saran type plastic wrap, held in place by bamboo stakes which kept virtually all the soil within its pot and the stakes also helped provide support to plant as well, and the shipping carton was designed to hold the plant securely in place. The plant itself was potted in a typical green plastic nursery container, which fits perfectly inside the decorative plastic flower pot that comes with it. The outer flower pot is very good looking, so much so that even up close, it truly looks like it was made from clay, rather than plastic, so I chose to keep this plant in that pot, rather than using my old one that I originally intended. Overall, this peace lily plant is still doing very well and looks great. My big struggle is deciding whether to follow the care instructions that came with this plant, or do what I always did with my old peace lily, which kept that one alive and healthy for years (though often left its roots sitting in water for days at a time) until a lack of water did it in. If you are in the market for a peace lily, I would recommend considering Costa Farms for purchasing one, but know that the one you will get from them is likely not going to be small in size (even if the height of the lily is matches its description perfectly). So if your space is limited in size for that plant, you might do better purchasing one in person elsewhere, (or you could prune the one you get) so you know the plant will fit your space. ... show more

Wow! A magnificent plant. I won’t buy plants from any other nursery than Costa Farms from now on. The Amazon product description says it is a foot tall. I thought this would include the height of the pot, but the height of the plant itself, above the pot, is a little over a foot tall. Just beautiful.
