Description

The Parlor Palm has long and graceful green fronds that adds an instant tropical flare. The small size of the Parlor Palm makes it ideal for tabletops, desks, and shelves. From a sunny window to fluorescent office lights, the Parlor Palm can grow. Water when the top inch of the soil is dry (about once a week) and be sure all excess water drains away. If the container does not have holes, use approximately half-1 cup of water, adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Parlor Palm sit in water or overly soggy soil. The height at shipping is approximately 1-foot (12 Inches) tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Parlor Palm ships in a lightweight, 6-inch decor planter; made from a 100% recyclable 5 material. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. The Parlor Palm is a slow grower and is hardy in USDA Zones 10-12. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the Parlor Palm, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. This palm arrived quickly and in very good shape. I wasn't expecting much, but color me surprised! The soil was disturbed from shipping and the leaves slightly dry. I'm going to mist it a bit and see if it helps. Pot isn't the best quality but it looks nice which was what I was looking for. Photo is just after unboxing. The dark bits on the plant are soil. Care tips: For folks with mite problems and dying plants, DO NOT OVER WATER. This plant doesn't need much water, just keep it lightly moist. Over watering can stress the plant and cause it to be vulnerable to mites. Stop watering and use neem oil to get rid of the mites. If the leaves turn brown, it needs higher humidity. If it's near heat vents or a fireplace, that could be the culprit. Snip the brown bits, mist it once a week. Yellow leaves indicate too much sun. Indirect bright light is best. The plant itself looks healthy and very attractive, they no fault of the seller the pit it came in was broken in half and was delivered a day earlier then first stated so I wasn’t there to meet the mailman who left it on it’s side so dirt was spilled out of plant and who knows how the pit was broke. Although the plant is smaller that I thought it would be, it's in good shape and looks healthy. The problem I had was that the pot was cracked from top to bottom. Amazon handled the issue with great customer service.
