Norfolk Island Pine features solid, green foliage. The Norfolk Island Pineis great for tabletops. It does well in spaces that have bright, direct sunlight. Place Norfolk Island Pine in a spot that receives bright light (5 or more hours of sunlight). Water your plant about once a week with approximately 1 cup and be sure all excess water drains away. Adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Norfolk Island Pine sit in water or overly soggy soil. The height at shipping is approximately 18-inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Norfolk Island Pine ships in a red, 6-inch tin planter. To help with water drainage, this container does have holes. The Norfolk Island Pine is a slow grower. Exact growth rate depends on the care provided and its environment. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for potted plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the Norfolk Island Pine, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. This plant is considered hardy in USDA Zone 10-11. Be aware of third-party sellers; other companies try to imitate our quality. When I was around 12-15 I had a small forest of houseplants that I kept on a dinning table that my mom had decided to put in the corner of the huge living room and that is where I had my plants. Among them was a small Norfolk Pine, along with a Peace Lily, some ferns and ivies, and a few other indoor trees and plants. I have not had a garden of indoor plants since my stint at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. I have now started to get plants back into my home and will definitely be buying more plants from Costa Farms. I was not expecting the tree to arrive in a cardboard box, for some reason I thought it would be wrapped like a bouquet, in plastic or florist paper. I am so thankful and pleased to find the care and caution that Costa Farms takes with these beautiful living plants. My Norfolk Pine arrived only half a day late, but it is the fall weather season, so that was expected. The box is not small and is just the perfect size to hold the plant secure and straight, only a slight shift in the soil occurred during shipment, which is astonishing, considering that this plant traveled through a couple of states at least to reach me up here in Wisconsin. The soil is moist and there is absolutely no damage to the delicate branches or the trunks of the cluster of individual pine trees. As far as I can tell there is at least 6-8, possible more individual trees in my planter. This Norfolk Pine grouping makes it look like one straight, bushy, and lively tree. I love these trees so much I am actually thinking of ordering a larger one in the coming months. Maybe one of the 3-4 foot tall trees. We'll see, but I am most definitely going to be ordering more indoor houseplants and trees, along with some succulents from Costa Farms. You can not go wrong by ordering from them. I hope you do order a live houseplant or two to brighten up your home and your sprite as well. ... show more
