We like this dehydrator. I only needed 4 trays one time I used it and it was great. I like the fact I can use some of the tray and still get good results. It’s just the right size for the kitchen counter. I think I will enjoy this for a long time.

Good spacing between trays. You can put them close together or align small tabs to give each tray an extra half-inch of space between trays. The fan is pretty quiet. It's much quieter then my microwave vent fan. I have only dried fruit but it works great on apples, pineapples (the best!), oranges, and fruit 'leather.' I had to by the fruit leather trays separate but hey were only $10. Bananas didn't turn out too well for me. I tried one batch that was soaked in citric acid and water and a batch that had nothing on it and they both turned out brown and way too hard. I'll keep trying. This is a trial and error sort of thing. I was initially going to buy the $10 cheaper version with no buttons, no auto-shutoff, and no temperature control. It just plugged in and ran until you unplugged it. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $10 and get this one. All those controls are included and I can't imagine trying to dehydrate food without them. ... show more

This is a reasonably priced dehydrator that easy to use. The 5 trays gives it a good capacity but I would have appreciated a little more space between tray levels - apparently I cut too thick. I've just started experimenting with a variety of fruits using the factory pre-settings (130 F for 8 hours) before I start tweaking drying times and temperatures. Quiet enough to run indoors, but it's still a running fan and heater so there is going to be noise. The vents and air flow ensures a good drying across the different trays but rearranging the trays during drying gives a more uniform product. You'll want to keep the box for storage. The dehydrator can be put back into the box easily to keep all the pieces together. ... show more

I love it so far. I have dried strawberries, peppers, celery, and working on onions and mushrooms as I write this. Simple to use, price great, perfect for me and my hubby. I have zero bad to say so far.

I haven't had this dehydrator very long and have already made 3-4 batches of Jerky, & a bunch of dehydrated fruits. I also purchased the expansion trays and the herb liners. Everything has been fantastic.

Works very well, great value for the money, the plastic material is light weight yet sturdy enough to handle very warm/hot air blowing for 12+ hours straight. This is a fairly quiet unit. Because is has several layers, you're able to dehydrate many fruits/ veggies/ meats at a time. The size is fairly compact because it's stacking.. I use this to make liver dog treats for my dog. Have also tried dehydrating apples, pineapples, beets, etc. Would recommend getting the item(s) you want to dehydrate as dry as possible first. This will cut down your dehydrating time. ... show more

It's not too large but large enough to get the job done. I certainly like the digital display which shows time and temperature. It's easy to set and you get a constant readout of time and temperature until it's done. I've dehydrated several pounds of Chicken Gizzards and Chicken Hearts for my dogs and made Chicken Jerky from Chicken breasts.. It does a fantastic job of dehydrating the meat. I noticed others complained about the distance between the trays not being high enough. Well, read the manual and you will see you can place the trays so they stack about a half inch or more higher. You will need that height for thick slices of food. I have not had any issues with the distance between the trays. Overall I think this unit is one of the best out there for the price. It does reach 165F and is fairly quiet. If you want to do the occasional food dehydrating and don't need a large industrial unit this should work well for you.
