Our 15-16 year old 60 lb Lab mix rescue who lives on the front porch could not stand up on her own and has been down for over a week. We put her in the house and tried stretching and massaging her rear legs but to no avail. She eats good and drinks plenty of water so we knew it had to be a joint/arthritis issue. We put multiple pee pads down on the linoleum and for the most part was able to catch most of the excrement. We did multiple research runs to see what we could do. Without the big vet bill we would receive, we opted to try this 60 tablet Cosequin product. We stood by waiting for it to come in and quickly opened the bottle. Gave her one full tablet that she ate right out of the palm of my hand and started to crunch. Gave her the bowl of water to chase it down and we proceeded to get dinner ready. We ate and settled in for the night watching TV. I gave her the tablet after 4pm and was watching an 8 o'clock show when on her own she showed up at the opening to the living room. I jumped up, petted her and guided her to the front door. That had to be her best bathroom run in over a week. We were jumping up and down watching her every move and enjoying to see her get around even tho it was a little shaky. She came back into the house and proceeded to rest for the whole evening. The next morning I could tell she wanted up but she couldn't get it done. I cut a tablet in half and around an hour later she was back at the living room wanting out for another bathroom run. I don't want to over due the dosage or continue for too long so we are going with a half pill in the morning and at dinner time. Just to let you know, I took my attention away from her to type this and she was able to get up away from all of the protection material on the floor we had for her and she wanted to go outside but I wasn't there to let her out and she peed on the carpet. We purchased this for our miniature dachshunds as they are known to have back problems if they are overweight. And it was also recommended by our vet since our miniature dachshunds are a bit overweight, even though they’re on a diet. The one dog will eat her half a tablet happily because she likes the taste But the other one absolutely refuses it and we have to hide it in Food. The pills are very sturdy and we cut them in half for their size. The quality is very good. The tablets are not soft, but they’re easy to use and very sturdy. You have to use a knife to cut them in half. I don’t believe this makes them sleep, but it is a good quality product for helping support their small bones. I recommend them also to larger dogs to help with their bones. Very happy with this product because our dachshunds are happy and healthy and I don’t foresee any problems with any of their bones or their back. Highly recommended for daily use. ... show more

Absolute game changer. My fiancés dog was really struggling. He’s an older dog, pitbull large schnauzer mix about 12-13 years old. He was struggling to even get up to go to the bathroom, not eating, and just overall miserable. Honestly, within a few days of taking it he acted like a brand new pup. I think this supplement is effective. My dog pursue the surgery though because it's advance or severe case of disease. I'd say effective because before the surgery i saw the xray of the bone with the disease and there was some difference, in a long run perhaps this could help but i think it's hard for me to see my fur baby in pain for long time (we're talking a year or two) btw, i'm still giving her the supplement. ... show more

I’m blown away. This literally healed my dog in one day. She was basically a shell of herself for a week, not being able to walk after her yearly vaccinations. The vet thinks they may have accidentally hit her muscle and it was being slow to heal. WOW! what a difference this has made for my senior dog!!! I was not sure what was wrong with her, but I knew she was suffering from some kind of pain. She was unable to move in the mornings, shaking in pain. Her zoomies were gone, she wasnt eating, and her quality of life was looking grim. I'm trying to slow the progression of hip dysplasia in my dog. We've had many labs through the years and everyone of them has succumb to this disease. I know it's pretty common in large dogs. After our last dog passed the rainbow bridge, we bought a German Shepherd Mix. We've had her on it since she was a pup.
