    • THIS HANDTRUCK DELIVERS!!!
I was in need of a handtruck so I diligently did my research on Amazon and YouTube. I ultimately selected the Cosco 4 in 1 Steel HANDTRUCK. I had the opportunity to put it through its paces while moving my son to a new city and I could not be happier with my purchase. It is light weight and, in traditional dolly mode, it maneuvers easily on the large solid wheels, including up and down stairs and on grass. I was quite surprised at how easily it moved large heavy objects (such as dressers, cabinets and mattresses) in the assisted dolly mode. Frankly, I did not even expect to use that mode, but the assisted mode allows the handtruck to take all the weight and my job was limited to steering and balancing. The cart mode is also extremely useful. What I particularly like about the cart mode is that the blade folds flat so that it can carry objects that are longer than the cart. The folding blade also makes the handtruck easier to store and to transport. In cart mode, it steers easily on the small caster wheels, both when you are pushing from behind and when you are pulling from the front. It literally only takes seconds to transform the handtruck from one configuration to the next. It is not quite a “one handed” operation, but it might as well be. That ability it extremely useful on a big move. You can deliver one load, roll back to the truck and literally in seconds transform the handtruck to a different configuration to accommodate the next load. I really like the fact that both the large wheels and the casters are solid. I expect that there will be long periods of time between using the handtruck and it is comforting to know that the wheels will never be flat and will always be ready to go!! I would not hesitate to recommend this handtruck to friend or to buy another one as a replacement when a friend borrowers it and does not return it!!! ... show more

    • THE BEST HAND TRUCK I HAVE EVER USED
I rarely write Amazon reviews but this is the BEST hand truck I have ever used. I'm 66 years old and this hand truck helped me move into my new house. I was even able to safely (and easily) move a heavy washer and dryer using this hand truck by myself with no help. It will come in handy over the next few years since it can safely haul just about anything since it easily converts into 4 different positions. The construction is top notch and it should last for years. Plus I can loan it out to friends and family and help safe their backs also.     • Highly Recommend for Light and Medium Use
Highly Recommend. Purchased in 2019 for antique business; light and dependable; five years later this hand truck still performs and maneuvers well. Always my first choice over steel trucks with pneumatic wheels. If you are moving items over 400 lbs apply some common sense and use an “appliance dolly.” Construction and Weight. Aluminum body that’s well made; much lighter than old-school steel hand trucks. Durability continues to be outstanding. Steel hand truck frames are more durable but the durability comes at the expense of weight. Did I say I hate pneumatic wheels (yes, they have a role to play). Yes this truck is rated to 1000 lbs but one look will tell you this truck is not designed for lifting loads over 400 to 500 lbs consistently. Reconfiguring and Maneuverability. Changing truck configuration - e.g. upright to 45 degree angle - requires a bit of thinking. After five years of heavy use the truck does not always reconfigure easily like it did when new. Welcome to middle age! Works fine on all four wheels (not the best on gravel / uneven ground) but shines in a traditional hand truck roll. I read through the One Star reviews prior to posting this review. I dismiss the complaints about damage during shipping - this does not address how well the hand truck performs. Yes reconfiguring is challenging for neophytes (see above); Yes the truck has plastic parts (ours have not failed after years of abuse but common sense applies here - I would not lift items over 400 lbs despite the weight rating); Yes sometimes you get a dud; and to the person who complained about marks on their carpet, maybe Darwin was on to something. Lastly. The only bummer is the truck is not made in America and the only reason it does not receive Five Stars. Gotta stick to my standards. ... show more

Purchased for use in a small business. It’s become an invaluable addition to our tools for work. Very sturdy and can be configured to suit the type of load. It folds three ways and the wheels don’t look like they will fall off soon. Will buy another soon.
