  • CX750M is under-powered. Not recommended.
Color: 80+ Bronze Size: 750 Watts Style: CX-M, Semi-Modular Pattern Name: Power Supply
This PSU was the biggest nightmare I have had in almost 30 years of building my own rigs. I purchased the CX750M and the short version is that it could not power my 3 year old Nvidia GeForce 1060 at load without lock up's or completely rebooting my PC in the middle of a game. After some part swapping and software load testing I finally determined that the GPU had to be plugged into the top connector to get enough amperage to run. I am speculating that there are at least two 12v rails in this unit that power each row of connectors and the amperage is too low to power an aging GPU, 1 SSD, 1 HDD and a DVD drive. No way am I spending this kind of money when to have something this flaky in my PC, so back to Amazon it goes and I will await my new PSU from another manufacturer. I've attached a photo showing the bottom row completely filled which caused the errors, and where I had to move the GPU plug to get it to work. Hopefully this can help someone stuck in a similar situation. ... show more

  • Nearly damaged my hardware if I didn't switch it.
Color: 80+ Bronze Size: 750 Watts Style: CX-M, Semi-Modular Pattern Name: Power Supply
I installed everything perfectly fine, as I have experience building many PCs. I had a bad experience with a previous Corsair product, but decided to try a corsair product anyways. After the first day, My PC started shutting down randomly and starting up again. First time I thought it was just my outlet possibly. Second time I started to investigate. After about a few times of trying to diagnose the problem, I decided I wasn't going to risk my parts trying to figure it out. I thought maybe it was my motherboard, but had an idea that it most likely was the PSU. I ordered an EVGA PSU and this thing has been working wonderfully thus far. I'm glad the Corsair PSU didn't fry my things. Corsair, your products just keep failing me. First time PSU bad experience, but a second time in a row? Never paying for your products again. ... show more

  • Hope you don't need to use the warranty
Color: 80+ Bronze Size: 750 Watts Style: CX-M, Semi-Modular Pattern Name: Power Supply
Product lasted 20 months, but has a 5 year warranty. That is the good part. Then comes trouble trying to get replacement. You must open trouble ticket with Corsair, but website won't let you register. Called support desk, and they won't help without support ticket. Called customer service, who also could not get an account to register. Finally created an account, and opened support ticket. Says you will get response within 24 hours. The response is, "we got your ticket". 5 days later, no response yet from support. Going to purchase different PSU in meantime, but guarantee that the support response will be to test it (done already), then we must return it, then we must wait 1-2 weeks for replacement. Don't buy this thinking it must be reliable due to the 5 year warranty. Buy a cheaper one that you don't mind replacing when it dies. ... show more

  • PSU blew up, Customer Service is weak.
Color: 80+ Bronze Size: 750 Watts Style: CX-M, Semi-Modular Pattern Name: Power Supply
I just got this on 12/21/19. I ordered it on 12/10/19 and was supposed to get it on 12/12/19 but amazon manage to lose my order and said it was delivered. Anyways I installed it 12/21/19 at 6:00pm it was working great. 12/22/19 still working well. 12/23/19 at 10:26am it blew up and a whole lot of smoke just started coming up. Pretty upset about the whole process. Overall I won’t buy the same model. UPDATE: I tried to get involved with CORSAIR’s damage claim department. They aren’t very clear or thorough. It’s like they don’t want to help you. Your power supply blew up my computer and it took you a long time to answer me back. I have to continue on complaining just so I can be heard which is ridiculous. They couldn’t help me because the original power supply was blown and I asked for a new one thinking it was just faulty but when I got the new one nothing worked. Corsair even though you’re in the bay area CA I am never supporting or buying your stuff anymore. I have bought items before but not like this. I don’t respect your customer service. I feel like there isn’t any integrity. I took a fat L but I’ll get back up. I had a hard time with amazon’s customer service as well as Corsair’s customer service. I never want to be dealing with that again. Good bye Corsair. ... show more

  • and have thankfully shared their experience for everyone to learn (I am glad I checked before install) Installation went as you would ...
Color: 80+ Bronze Size: 750 Watts Style: CX-M, Semi-Modular Pattern Name: Power Supply
Its a PSU, it is semi modular, as in that aside from the connections to the motherboard itself, the accessory cabling is plugged in to use, so you only use the cables you need. The modular cables are of the flat variety, so this could be a positive or a negative, depending what your view on the differing cable configurations out there are. One word of advice, and this goes with ANY PSU that you install, please ensure you install the PSU with the cables supplied, do NOT be tempted to reuse the cables from your old PSU (going to the various drives and accessories) if this is a replacement. Sadly there is no set "standard" for the PSU side of the cable, unlike the drive end. If you try and re-use the installed existing cables, and the pin-out doesn't match on the PSU end (multi-meter can confirm if you really want to know) you could fry every component you connect to this. Even if the cable actually fits into the PSU it does not mean they are compatible by any means. Some people have come to find this out the hard way, and have thankfully shared their experience for everyone to learn (I am glad I checked before install) Installation went as you would expect, it fit my case well, is the same dimensions as the 700w supply it was replacing. I cannot attest to the longevity of this unit yet, but will try and remember to update this in the future, once it has some hours on it. Good price, good brand and an easy install. what more can you ask? ... show more
