Forgot to write a review for this and it's nearly been 4 years. So figured it's the best time to write one. Absolutely zero issues with it paired with a 4070ti super. Quiet, fan barely runs so it doesn't get dusty. Modular works perfectly. Always been happy with corsair PSUs.

So this is a great psu, excellent quality and provides all the power I could ever need for my AMD rig, which has an RTX 30 series card, AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, 3 SSDs, a wifi card and 16GB of 3200Mhz ram. The quality is excellent and this thing feels like a tank. It comes with all the cables you would generally need for a gaming PC and more (I ended up having a leftover CPU cable as well as some molex cables and a SATA cable. PLEASE NOTE: I read all the reviews and questions about this PSU before buying and a lot of reviews were saying it does not come with enough PCIe cables to power a 3 plug RTX 30 series card. So I went out and bought a pack of PCIe cables for this so i would have enough (as the RTX 30 series cards need 3 8-pin connectors). Only to find out THIS PSU COMES WITH 3 8-PIN CONNECTORS (well the connectors are actually 6+2-pin by the way) so I bought the extra cables for no reason, however I'm a PC enthusiast so the cables will not go to waste. However I think it's pretty foolish that people are saying it doesn't come with enough cables when it actually DOES. I would highly recommend this PSU and I see it lasting a very long time as I have only ever used Corsair PSUs and never had one die on me. It seems sturdy and well made. It's also crazy quiet with no coil whine, I can put my PC on full load, and I cannot even hear this PSU, it makes it seem like it's not even struggling to provide the power needed for my PC, and that's awesome.

I originally bought this for a browsing only PC and it worked perfectly. Modular connections and the wires that came with were perfect. I had to buy an extension to get to the Motherboard which was on the opposite side! Wish they included that. But it was just few $. Unit itself worked from get go. The fan noise was barely present! If you have nice ventilation, especially you have bottom clearance for air circulation, you shouldnt see the fan spinning much. Lets talk about support. I switched this unit for 1200W (same brand) as I had to upgrade my graphics card and add few HDD. Kept it in its box and after 6 months, when I put it to a new MB/ATX, it wont power up!! Go figure! Probably a faulty unit? Contacted Corsair via phone/email and after few initial hiccups (once their Tech Support got involved) they asked for few pictures, videos and RMA was triggered! Shipped the unit with their label and my new one is enroute! After googling I found out their 2021 model had some such failures for other people. I would still recommend this model, but get the latest one. Whats better than the best PSU, you ask? - Best Customer Support & RMA process. Anyone can say 50 years guarantee, but to stand behind that and replace as promised, thats the brand you should buy.

This is my third large power supply in two years. I'm really picky about keeping equipment noise down in my office and I think I've finally found a winner. I don't notice it at all, both when idle and when my 3080 has been pulling a lot of power for hours. It's very quiet. Prior to this I tried an EVGA 850 G5 and a Seasonic TX-1000. Both were too loud when the fans were running. They both also had an issue where the fan would briefly power up to full speed for a moment when the fan needed to turn on, which I found distracting and jarring while planing games. The Seasonic did this repeatedly while I played games as it apparently couldn't decide if it wanted the fan on or off. My only gripe with the Corsair is the cables. They have in-line caps in the ATX and CPU cables which make them awkward and reduces the effective length a bit. The CPU cable is too short. Mine is pulled tight straight from the PSU to the top of the motherboard. If it were an inch or two shorter it might not have fit at all. But it did fit and this thing is super quiet, so I'm happy!

Got this PSU cause I knew it 1. had more than enough power needed for my new build and 2. the case it went into was designed by corsair, and was able to check clearance on everything. I didn't go with the Shift version of the PSU for the simple reason that although it's unique, I see a lot of people complaining about its practicality. So, I went with the 2021 version of the RM1000x. The pros are basic. Strong but also stiff cables with protection in the proper places. Very easy overall install & modularity we've came to be familiar with when it comes to modern PSU's. Quiet operation, & plenty of peace of mind knowing I have plenty of power for my build (6950xt + 13600k). CONS.... This is the biggest con thus far, and I will complain about it until the end of time. Not that it's ever been okay practice, but having your PCIE cables all have a pigtailed additional 6 pin is just miserable to deal with. My GPU requires two 8 pins & one 6 pin... that's three separate cables with three separate & dangling 6 pin pigtails that'll never be used. I can understand giving only 6+2's even though it should be practice at this point to have some full 8 pin's, but I'll never understand a 6+2's with pigtailed 6 pins on a 1000W unit..... JUST NO. Please, if you're reading this and considering this PSU, please keep in mind to use a separate PCIE 6+2 cable for each connection on the card, AND DO NOT USE THE PIGTAILED 6 PIN THAT'S ATTACHED TO THEM. For lower power cards back in the day this wasn't a huge deal but was still bad practice to daisy chain your PCIE connections like that. Nowadays, with the power these cards are capable of drawing, there's NO REASON a 1000w PSU would even give you the option to daisy chain. A pretty big & detrimental (in my opinion) overlook on Corsair's part. Luckily you can use a cable tie or strap & just bunch them all together but... no one that has built a pc will tell you it looks good. other than that one major annoyance that I deem to be a con, great power supply.
