I purchased the largest plates and these bowls (after getting rid of lots of kitchen dishes and unused "stuff" in the cabinets). My hunch was correct, this set of dishes from Corning is a huge every day winner! Like the fact that I can purchase a number of only certain pieces - I could tailor to our needs without a bunch of "other" pieces I won't use. These bowls are VERY sturdy and simple. Take up little space, and are pleasant to eat off. Used every day, perfect in dishwasher and micro. In an age of getting rid of things, this was a winner purchase/addition. I am so pleased with the Corelle Dinnerware we ordered. We needed to get rid of our heavy stoneware and find something lighter in weight, durable and attractive. I spent several weeks loking on Amazon and other popular websites. We finally chose the Winter White Corelle, due to the thousands of positive reviews. We ordered 12 dinner and salad plates, 12 cereal bowls, and 6 of the larger/deeper soup bowls. All the dinnerware arrived quickly and intact, due to excellent packaging. We are pleased with the style, weight and size of these dishes! In fact, I will probably order more of the larger soup bowls. (Which my husband prefers.) ... show more

I love these dishes because they're super lightweight and they take up a lot less space than most dishes. But it's important to note that any of these dishes in this line will get very hot in the microwave. Even if no food is touching them, if they're in a couple of minutes or more, they're going to be very hot so don't touch them with your bare hands. Also, they don't break easily which is another reason I bought them. However, when they do break, they shatter into a million pieces that go everywhere. And I mean everywhere. So if you drop a lot of dishes, you don't let any animals or people anywhere near you until you get that cleaned up well. When you think you've got all the pieces, you don't. ... show more
