For inside mount give us the exact opening to the 1/8th of an inch and we will take a 3/8 deduction. For an outside mount give us the exact size you want the shade to come. - For an INSIDE THE WINDOW FRAME MOUNT, fill out the customization form with the exact measurement of the opening to the 1/8th inch and WE will take a 3/8 inch deduction off the exact measurement given so the shade will fit perfectly in that opening. The shade must be slightly smaller than the opening to fit inside. Again, we take the deduction so give us the exact opening to the 1/8th inch. You need at least 1 3/8 inch of depth at the top of the window for an inside mount.
- For an OUTSIDE the window frame mount we take no deductions- provide us with the exact size you want the shade to come when filling out the customization form. Outside mounts are traditionally mounted above the window opening and go slightly wider than the opening. These are child safe cordless woven wood shades. They will NOT be completely private. The collections that offer the most privacy are the hatteras and eastfield collections. Limited lifetime warranty All Hardware is Included.

These custom cordless roman style woven wood shade have a smooth appearance which accentuates the beauty of the natural woven materials – shades raise evenly and stack into neat flat folds. Practical and reliable cordless construction pulley control system for years of smooth and trouble free operation. We can customize these cordless woven wood shades up to an 1/8th inch. Once you click your size and color you will see a "Customize Now" button on the top right. You then type inside the window frame mount or outside the window frame mount and you exact measurements to the 1/8th of an inch. Order slightly larger sizes in the drop down. For example, if you need 24 1/2w x 48 1/2 order the 25w x 52h size and then customize if from there. THEY WILL NOT BE COMPLETELY PRIVATE. The hatteras and eastfield collections offer the most privacy.

I ordered the Sarasota cocoa, one of the darker colors. My lower kitchen cabinets are a walnut stain, and most of my furniture is on the darker side. I ordered one blind first, to see how I liked it and check the quality. I REALLY liked it so ordered more for all the windows on the front of the house. These shades replaced 25yo 2" faux wood blinds in alabaster, which were all still in fine condition and fully functional, just dated. I've gone with a dark olive exterior paint, with dark brown and black trim, so really needed some darker blinds to blend in with the exterior; these are perfect. They are very easy to install, though I did have to drill some holes for the wider, 47" width blinds. The wider blinds have the channels for the brackets further in from the ends than the narrower ones, so you'd have to do a top-mount for the brackets to line up with the existing channels. I wanted that end support, with the brackets mounted on the sides, so I drilled holes to accommodate that. I also drilled a couple more holes toward the center for support, and used some thicker screws to drill directly into the top part of the window frame. The wood is soft and drilling was a breeze. I don't need blackout or privacy of a liner, and discovered the benefit of these see-thru, darker shades is that they make the room seem larger, since you can see out; I didn't anticipate that so it was a nice surprise. The first night after I installed them I turned on the lights in the rooms with the new blinds and stood in the driveway, then the street, to see how much you can see inside from outside. Since my house sits about 75' back from the street, it's not much. You have to be pretty close to see any detail of the interior. My neighborhood is safe (been here since 1995) and, I believe, free of Peeping Toms; these will be just fine. If you need more privacy you might want to look into options with liners. I like them so much that I ordered more for some French doors on the back of the house to replace older, lighter colored bamboo Roman shades, with cords. Very pleased with the quality for the money, and will update my review if anything goes awry anytime in the near future. *Update after receiving the outside mounts for the French doors. I was not happy with the look of the side pieces of the valance that stick on with Velcro, but I touched them up with some Old English Furniture Polish for dark wood, and they're much better - photo 1 -v- photo 2. I will be swapping out the white Velcro for black (why, oh, why would anyone put white on these dark shades?). Just took a little extra time but it was worth it. Still really love these shades.

These blinds arrived quickly, were cut to measurements very accurately, and look fantastic! The quality exceeds our expectation for the price point. They were very easy to install. I have one complaint, and that would be that I would plan to use different screws as the wood screws provided are very poor and stripped easily. A few higher quality screws made this a quick and easy install.

Nice shades! Not sheer, so great privacy shades for our first level. Liked them so much after the first 4-pack purchase, we got another 2 for our kitchen! Only thing I'm not crazy is the bottom wood bar is inside the shade part so it's hard to see to grab. I'm never really sure if I'm pulling the shade down from the actual bottom or not. Another set we bought has a visible wood bar that I like better. BUT - it's not that big of a deal. What IS a big deal is the installation - it's easy, but is a bit of two-person job because the shade is kinda heavy and the process is unwieldy because of it. For the single or solo installers out there (like myself): My trick was to attach the shade to each of the sill screws using only the butterfly screw first (no washer) on both sides because it's easier doing this one-handed (while the other hand holds up the shade). Once both butterfly screws are on, you can loosen each side separately to add the washer. It's easier to do this part one-handed because the other side is already temporarily placed when you do. Then you can loosen both slightly to align within the window frame and tighten when finished. Voila! Easy(er) solo install! Have fun.

These Roman shades are great! They look awesome and make the room feel and look different. Highly recommend have owned 2 for about 3 years now and have held up great. Had a small issue with one recently and the warranty and customer support were great and very helpful.

I installed these with my son for his room and for another room. It does take some proper measuring and some lightweight tools, but after the first one, the 2nd one was a breeze to install. I liked that this store offered different sizes to match my windows.
