  • I'm hard on stuff and this thing has survived me thus far...
Color: Yellow
I'm impressed... Let's be real, it's a battery powered hand held cultivator. It is not a PTO powered 3pt tractor implement.... But, if you put a 9Ah battery on it, and are in dry dirt, this lil dude will get the job done. I put in a 2ft by 40 ft raised garden and used this tiller to incorporate the lower soils with some that I brought in, (and there is a lot of clay in my soil) so when it's wet, it's a sticky mess... wouldn't matter what tool you tried to use, but when it drys out and can break apart, rather than smoosh and gum up the works, this lil guy was just about perfect. This thing does not like long fibrous things like roots or long grass, they will get all wrapped up on the tines, so at first I spent some time cutting roots loose... but once the roots are gone, if you go slow, and please understand this is one of those "thousands of small movements rather then a few big ones" kinda tools... you'll find it does a fine job... I've run probably 8 or 9 full 9Ah batteries through this lil guy so far. it's not big and heavy, there's no gas to go bad or spill, it's quiet, and my wife can grab it and use it any time with no start rope to pull.... for what I paid, I feel like I got a good deal on this one.... if there was one real negative, design wise that is, it'd be the mechanical connections between the motor head, the mid shaft, and the handle... I find that a couple times per battery, I've had to retighten the screw sleeves that holds the parts of the handle/shaft together. It didn't seem to effect the functionality of the machine, but in time, I fear that this will be the failure point as this movement of this joint will effect the electrical connections inside. ... show more

  • Worth the cost? Yes, definitely.
Light weight though powerful motor. It cuts about 6" to 8" per pass it also digs up rocks up to 8" square. I am a strong 68 year old and use it with one arm. I have had other battery powered lawn and garden tools, some of which were inferior and largely failed in electronics and motor. This piece of equipment is, surprisingly, much higher in quality and reliability. Yes. ... show more

  • Overpriced, cheaply made, and disfunctional.
Color: Yellow
This tool should not even be sold. It cannot achieve the purpose it was intended for. I rarely give a 1 star rating, but this one deserves it. Not just this one, but ANY single handled tiller that is made like this. Firstly, any tiller made should have two handles. Why? Because with a single handle, the tiller either has to be on one side of you, which places you into the veggies on your other side, or you fight to keep the tiller directly in front of you, where your arm is now off center, trying to keep this jumping bean of a tool going straight. Impossible! Within minutes, your arm and elbow will be fatigued and you may need cortisone shots for tennis elbow. Secondly, it simply WILL NOT TILL going forward. Impossible. There is no resistance to the pull of the tines because there is no drag bar . YOU are the drag bar. And I tell you, your arm will give out quickly. The only time when this thing will even attempt to dig is if you apply downward pressure and pull backwards. This tiller is designed to work... going backwards. The problem with that is, while walking backwards, you step on the rows of veggies beside you. And again, pulling this thing backwards will wear you out within minutes! And if you walk back too much, it will dig up a pile of dirt that will stop it. So now, you need to drag this thing over the hump of dirt to smooth it out going forward... while holding it back. Yes, it really is this bad. I tried to use this thing three different times. It was a waste of time. Furthermore, this thing is expensive and made almost entirely of plastic. Even the gear box is plastic. And the handle shaft is made in pieces, held together with... plastic couplers. It creaks and cracks at the couplers as you are using it. And the middle grab handle on the shaft will not stay locked into position because it is held on by... squeezed together plastic. If you over tighten it, the plastic will break. Thus, the handle turns as you fight to keep this thing in a straight line. Another point is that the tines are not designed to till. They are designed to spin and not catch rocks. There is not enough curve to the ends of the blades to be of any use. And if they did... they would need a drag bar to hold the tiller back. The tines simply pull weeds back and lay them down because the blades only scrape the surface, making a shallow groove. Another point is that it leaves the middle, between the two tine assemblies, untouched, requiring you to drag the tiller side to side to try to get that area tilled. Try doing that with the thing directly in front of you. Ugh! You will ultimately tear up your veggies and wreck your arm. I cannot recommend this tool for anyone. It is overpriced, built cheaply, and the design is completely dysfunctional. I am sending it back. At this point, I am at a loss with what I can use to replace it. Years ago I had a gas powered cultivator that worked good, but the tines caught too many rocks, binding the tines. It also kept stripping brass gears. While this tiller does not catch rocks, the tines also do not work. At this point, I do not believe there is a good solution. If this was sold for $45, it would still be too much to pay for it. It is a gimmick tool. I ultimately went back to my manual hoe-type weeder that attaches to my wheeled cultivator. Amazingly, it is less tiring and works better. I may venture into trying out a two-handled battery tiller someday, that has better tines and a drag bar, but with the tariffs, I'll hold off. ... show more

  • Small size, BIG power without running away
Color: Yellow
Best purchase yet ! I had bought a larger electric model that worked ok but it was hard to handle. I decided to try a cordless and this baby really cut it up. I used a bauer battery adapter and doing an area 16' x 10' was no problem.

  • Worked well for the money.
Color: Yellow
This worked well with my existing DeWalt batteries. Wanted something to help turn the soil in my garden. This was easy to assemble and operate. Battery life isn't exceptional but it is powerful so I'd rather have the power than a long battery usage. It dug into the soil and tore out the weeds.

  • Easy to use
Works well for it's size. Easy to handle. Blades dig well in semi hard dirt. Good value for what you get. Just need to allow blades to dig in.

  • Easy assembly and more than enough power.
Color: Yellow
I was concerned it would be a pain to assemble but it went together very quick, like less than 5 minutes just looking at the photo. Also concerned about power, no issues there either. Highly recommend.
