Right out of the gate, this is awesome! Quality is pretty good - the handle for the off hand could be a little more sturdy for doing some more of the heavy duty work, but its not bad. Super easy to use, definitely worth the money, its light enough that even my 9 year old could use if he wanted to. But the best of all is the functionality.... Everyone whom I told I purchased this said "yeah that will probably work okay for a light dusting, but not a heavy snow like what we just got" or "if you want it to be effective, you will have to be out in the storm every 30 minutes cleaning your deck off with that thing before the snow sticks" but BOY were they wrong! I purchased this right after we got a heavy 8+ inches of snow. Then it froze real good a few times, and I just walked across my deck without shoveling off more than the stairs (shovel is still on the deck by the stairs lol), which walking on the deck just packed the snow further more. Nearly 6 days after the first appearance of this snow, my electric shovel arrived. I decided to test it out right away. Where the snow wasn't packed down from walking on, it took it all up with ease! Where it was packed down, I just had to put a LITTLE elbow grease into it (not much though) and it chipped away at the packed snow/ice on the deck like it was nothing! I probably would have expended more energy to shovel a light powder with a regular shovel than I had to use to get this 8+ inches of packed snow and ice off the deck. Don't believe me? Look at the picture, I left a portion on the deck for comparison!

Excellent snow shovel for cleaning snow up around the house. I used in the past a plug-in Toro snow shovel and it was extremely heavy to use and the cord was a pain in the winter time dragging around in the snow and I ended up giving it away. I did miss the ability to remove snow quickly without having to lift and throw the snow. This 20V snow shovel packs enough power to clean decks, walkways, and in our case, areas around our horse barn (sliding doors, gates, water troughs, etc.). The freedom of not having a cord alone makes this more productive and expands the areas we can cover. My petite wife is comfortable using it as compared to my old Toro unit that I was the sole delegated user :-). You do need to provide your own 20V DeWalt battery, which in my case I have other DeWalt cordless products. I have had no issue with any of the size DeWalt batteries I own working in this unit. I always appreciate when others include pictures so I am doing the same so you can see the product features prior to purchase. It comes well packaged, and it took me all of 3 minutes to pull out and put together. You can see there are 3 segments (power head, middle extension and handle). All screw together quickly with the prongs that plug in when you push and screw the sections together. There are grooves which help you align correctly which you can see in the pictures. Finally the head is made of durable ABS plastic and the motor is definitely strong enough to throw the snow conveniently where you need it. I was surprised as to how smooth and quiet the unit is when running as compared to the grinding and squealing of my old Toro unit. I recommend this unit for those looking for a lightweight unit that can power through the snow and don't want to be dragging a cord around. By the way it is rated for 6 inches of light snow, but given how light the unit is, if you get deeper show, you can take it in layers and it works well with multiple passes. Hope this helps.

Very light, fairly powerful, but missing directional control. Yes, you can overwhelm it if you going too fast, so do not push it over the limit, take lite passes, or use back ans forth movement. Although it works great, I am still not sure that it is better than a manual shovel. The power is probably standard with other battery shovels, but it is not enough to be convincingly better than doing it by hand even in the light snow. Perhaps, Ego shovel feels more powerful, but it is way-way too heavy, so I prefer this one over Ego. Other thoughts, this is designed for hard flat surfaces, but it still works on uneven icy surfaces and even gravel. However, small rocks can get in between the side of the case and the wheel. Overall, good shovel, but recommend getting the one with directional control or have a plan on how to use this with the snow coming only straight.

I don't live in a heavy snow area where the snow is the same consistency / fluffy snow all the time like some of the places in the north east. I was able to give this a whirl on a wintry mix and then on very fluffy snow (6 inch high). This doesn't work well on wintry mix since the snow is wet and heavy and it's more effective on fluffy snow. It worked well on fluffy snow BUT you have to go slow or it will stop and cease. it's not clean as a shovel since it leaves a thin layer of snow behind, I had to shovel certain areas that I needed to be "cleaner". I don't think this saves a lot of time since it's not as wide as a shovel and leaves some snow behind, but it saves your back from shoveling. As for energy usage, I was using a Dewalt 20V 4Ah battery and it covered a good amount of my driveway, I would say around 30-40 mins of usage. This a big hit with my kids since I used it to shape a hill for sledding in the backyard haha.

What I Love: The standout feature is its ability to shovel all the way down to the ground. It functions like a traditional shovel while still providing the power-throwing capability. This dual functionality worked great for clearing my property thoroughly, and the cordless design made the job so much easier. Family-Friendly: Here's the best part - this tool is so easy and fun to use that even my kids were able to help me shovel! It made snow removal a family activity rather than a dreaded chore. That alone makes it worth every penny. The only limitation I've encountered is the lack of directional control over where the snow is thrown. Living in the city, this means you're somewhat limited in your options - the snow either lands on your neighbor's property, gets thrown into the street, or you need to shovel before your neighbors to avoid any concerns strategically. Bottom Line: Despite the directional limitation, this is still a highly effective tool that makes snow removal much faster and easier. If you're looking for an efficient, user-friendly snow removal solution that makes the job faster and even enjoyable, this is it. Best investment for winter maintenance! Don't waste your money. Has a push button to allow you to hold trigger. Button constantly resets with handle down. I even tried holding button in while on trigger(very uncomfortable) still resets. I can't even get 3 feet without resetting. Total frustration & completely useless. No reason at all to have push button release just to hold trigger

A great cordless powerhouse of an electric snow shovel that gets the job done fast especially in places a full size snow blower can’t! An incredible value at only a little more than $100 and runs on DeWalt batteries that many of us already have. It took maybe five minutes from opening the box it was delivered in to fully assembled and ready to use! However, please be aware that I ordered a new unit and the one I received was clearly refurbished or used.
