  • Great performance. Lightweight, but seems to be holding its own!
This thing is awesome. Triple awesome for the price point…. Overall, I’m super happy with this purchase. This is a legit snowthrower. Handled 1” snow well. It handled 4” of snow even better. It even handled an 8” snow pretty well, but had to slow down a bit at )” depth. It was super easy to assemble. Honestly, I didn’t even need the instructions. Just checked them to make sure it was all right. I used it right away. I was able to clear 6 cars worth of driveway and about 100’ of 48” wide sidewalk with one pair of 5 AH batteries in 4” snow depth. I went on to clear about another 1000’ of 48” sidewalk with just a bit more than 2 more pairs of 5 AH 20v batteries. Cons: It does seem pretty lightweight, so I am concerned about potential damage if I manage to ingest any FOD into the intake. I’m several snows in now, and so far so good, though! Also, the battery compartments of the snowblower will not facilitate the use of 60V flex-volt batteries. They are also too small to allow for the 10 AH 20V batteries that would otherwise be perfect for this application. ... show more

  • Works well, just remember ...
Just remember, you paid about 75% less than the name brand. You saved a couple thousand off the heavy duty, self propelled monsters. You'll get a lightweight version that works well in lightweight snow. I've used it 6 times so far in up to 6" of light snow and it works well. It's super easy to use, just load the batteries from the charger, push the button and hold the lever. It starts, runs and throws. Here's what it's not; it's not a steel, two stage, snow monster. You can't jam it into the pile at the end of your driveway. It won't scrape off the tire tread compacted ruts when you drive before clearing. What it will do is clear a 2,000 sq ft (24 by 80) driveway, start everytime and make you smile at how easy your life is. It will clear a porch, stairs or deck. And you can carry it up the stairs. Plus, it clears my large driveway. Couple of tips; keep the batteries warm (I moved mine from garage to house), use a brush to keep the snow away from the battery doors (bad design) and remember you saved 75% on your zero maintenance, push button start, lightweight snow blower. Now your wondering what happens when, once a year, I get a foot of wet, heavy snow? I hire the guy with the steel two stage snow monster and watch. This machine handles the other 10 snow falls. ... show more

  • Great for light duty snow removal
Nice little snow thrower for light/medium snow. Doesn't work well for deep, wet, heavy snow. I knew this before purchasing. Takes Dewalt and compatible batteries. I have many of these types of batteries already on hand for other tools so not a problem for me. Plus I don't have yet another kind of proprietary battery/charger laying around. I have not tried similar battery operated snow throwers so can't compare to another brand/style. Assembly was fairly quick. We grabbed a better tool than what was provided to tighten some screws. Assembly instructions were just ok. There are two compartments on the top to slide the 20V batteries into. Be careful to seat the batteries correctly. They slide in easily enough. The larger batteries 9amh and up may not fit in the battery compartments because of the compartment style but I believe the 8amh and below do fit. A flex battery (depending on size) may not fit in the compartment. Try and see. To start, push the start button then pull back the lever. Letting go of the lever stops the machine. If you accidentally let go of the lever the machine will stop but if you pull back the lever right away the machine will start again without having to press the start button. The handle to turn the direction of the snow is easy to turn even when a little snow collects on the top of the machine. The wheels help tremendously with maneuvering. This is much better than the electric shovel style without wheels imho. You can set the direction and the distance of the snow by tilting the front tube up or down. The snow thrower does a decent job of moving snow. Some snow spits out the front of the thrower but most snow comes out the shoot. Snow will collect on the top of the machine so maybe brush it off good before opening the battery compartments to change the batteries. You don't want snow in your battery compartments. Two 7amh batteries lasted about 10 minutes (give or take a couple of minutes). I have plenty of batteries on hand so not an issue for me but just an FYI. This snow thrower works best on a hard, flat surface. I used it on the lawn to clear a path to a shed and it was just ok because of the lumpy, uneven ground. It was harder to maneuver but I was able to clear a path. BEWARE that small rocks and debris may get picked up with the snow and get blown around. If this is used on a surface with mulch, pea gravel, rocks, etc, be extra careful. I don't have information on the longevity of this machine but will update review if it fails in a short amount of time. Overall I recommend this snow blower for light duty snow removal. ... show more

  • Light Duty but it works
I've had this for a couple of weeks and used it a few times. I would not want to tackle a really heavy snowfall with only this, but within its limits i am quite impressed. It is light and easy to maneuver. It clears snow right down to a hard surface. It is small and light enough to bring inside to thaw out between uses. If you live in a townhouse and just have to clean a bit of sidewalk and steps, this is easier than just using a snow shovel. If you have a smallish driveway and don't usually get heavy snow this might be all you need. If you consider 6" to be a heavy snowfall this might be enough. It is great for those little 1-2" snows that are not worth getting the big snowblower out. It is great for cleaning out that last bit of snow that the big two stage snowblower never really gets. I would not want to tackle those 10-12" dumps that we sometimes get here in Minnesota, but for all the little snowfalls up to about 4" I will probably not be getting out my gas powered snowblower. ... show more

  • Works great on decks and pavement. Easy to manuver.
This snow blower works as described. I tried it in 3 inches of wet snow, pushed slower, and the snow cleared to the pavement. I tried it in 6 inches of powder snow and moved at a slow walk. It blew the snow away down to the pavement. I am in a wheelchair and as sonn as a path was cleared wide enough for my wheelchair and blower, it was easy for me to use. Much easier if you can walk. I used two of the normal size 6amp/hour Dewalt batteries. I also assembled this from my wheelchair. Lite weight and easy to use. Excelent value. a high quality product for the money. ... show more

  • Buyers beware— seriously
The epitome of “you get what you pay for”. It starts up then sputters out after 5 seconds every time — I have used 4 different sets of batteries of various strengths ranging from low end to high-output (and yes, ensured they were fully charged prior). The whole system is light as can be, made with cheap plastic, which some may find nice. Admittedly I found this thrower’s weight very nice when it came to boxing it back up and taking it to the UPS store for return. This is my first Amazon review ever, the system was that disappointing. ... show more

  • Its a little work horse
This is a great little snowblower. I live in the northeast just went through the BLIZZARD. I'll tell you it was tossing the snow 30' away. I knocked it down with a shovel and went over it with the snow blower, worked great my batteries lasted a long time. Great buy worth every penny!

  • Great performance for a low price
I was surprised at how well this thing works. We got a couple of inches of snow, then rain, which turned it into a mess of slush. I had my doubts, but was getting tired of trying to shovel that slop. This thing handled almost the entirety of a 20-foot, 10 foot wide driveway, slinging slush like nobody's business. The 5A batteries finally pooped out with about 6 feet of driveway to go, so I switched them out and finished. I believe they would have done a normal snow on one set. Glad I bought this thing. ... show more
