This is a review for the Makita battery compatible light. The light is bright and perfect for what I needed it for. I removed a star because it did not swivel. The bolt where it is supposed to swivel on was very tight. I first tried to swivel it and the plastic almost broke. I had to loosen it a bit and the nut was VERY tight. I also left a battery on for two days and the battery drained a bar. Overall it's an ok light for emergencies or to use occasionally. I don't see myself leaving a battery on for long periods so it works for me.

I don't regularly work outside in the dark or need something for professional use so I couldn't justify the price tag of big brand name solutions. This flood light puts out a good amount of light, plenty to brighten an area to work in. No issues using Makita batteries, just unclip them from the light when you're done to make sure they don't trickle drain. This seems pretty durable and it has a very large heat sink on the back that seems to dissipate the heat well. Really quite surprised at the overall quality for the price.

I make multiple trips to Texas each year for business and I tow a 14 foot trailer. I have all my Milwaukee tools in the pack out kit in the trailer when I travel. I purchased this because all of my power tools are Milwaukee and I have a lot of batteries. if I need to do something on the side of the road at night whether it’s a tire or under the hood or anything like that this item will flood the area with light. It has two settings once the battery is connected on the power, switch one for a lower amount of light and one for maximum amount of light. A nice addition to keep in the vehicle with you when you’re traveling for safety reasons. Also works great around the house if you’re working in a tight confined space and need a lot of light.

Portable LED Work Light for Makita 18V Battery Pros: - Works well; sufficient light for many a project; plenty of light if house power dies. - Simple toggle switch – low/off/high. - Light assembly is easily adjusted to virtually any angle. - high setting produces a nice focused beam; more spot than flood. - low uses all 16 bulbs at half power to save the battery or the brightest light isn’t needed. - very low center of gravity, so it’s not at all tip prone; stable just sitting. Cons: - When mounted on a brand new Makita BL1850B 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah battery, it drains in a matter of days even with the lamp off. So, you have to remove the battery when not in use. This is a MAJOR defect. - It’s for a Makita 18v battery; it is NOT a Makita product. - Nothing on it indicates country of origin, make or model. There are no parts available, there is no warranty and once the 30-day Amazon return window expires, you’re on your own – gives an aura of cheapness. - When mounted on a Makita battery, the lamp wobbles way too much. There is no wobble with any of my dozen Makita-brand tools. Summary: Makita doesn’t make a lamp with a similar design, so if that’s what you want, go for it. I also bought a Makita brand lamp for my wife and it’s better quality, there is a one year warranty and replacement parts are available. I should have paid a little more and got an actual Makita lamp.

3 stars for function. Light does not swivel side to side & is not meant to be adjusted repeatedly.It works loose after a few adjustments. I like the Hi / Lo switch. It's pretty bright but transmits a ghost of the internal grid work. Without power after a house fire, I'm glad to have this.
