  • Very Impressed Very Impressed
Quick Update: I just read a comment or two from other users regarding the fact that the grass and hedge trimmers could not be re-attached after it had been removed. I do not believe this is an actual issue with the unit. I encountered the same thing. But for me, it turned out that the male fitting (the "wheelie" thing) on the attachment was simply misaligned. The quick fix is to manually turn the fitting/wheel (see photo) a smidge (= a tiny bit) and then try again. When "I" did this, the attachment popped right in. I hope this helps other users. ================================================ I was looking for a replacement for my old mini hedge trimmer when I decided upon this model and I'm very happy that I did. Just an FYI, my old unit was not from the same company. As the description stated, this was unit was compatible with Milwaukee M18 batteries and does not come with batteries. That's actually what I wanted because I have two (2) M18 CP2.0 batteries. I don't need a whole garage filled with different batteries so I this is what I wanted. In any event, when I tried the batteries and they both fit like a charm. They popped in and out "without" an issue. I recently tested out the Trimmer and was actually surprised at how well it worked. My previous mini hedge trimmer took a lot of effort on my part to trim the hedge in my front yard. However, this unit cut the leaves and small branches with ease. I was impressed, to say the least. I was also very pleased with the blade length of this hedge trimmer, as it is longer than my old unit, but not too long to be cumbersome. The removal and attaching the grass cutting blade and the trimmer blade were simple and easy to do. It only requires one to push to buttons, one on each side of the blade unit, and it pops right off. Attaching the blade is a simple "snap" action. Real easy! As I stated above, my M18 batteries are only the CP2.0 version, so I was a bit concerned about the energy required to run this trimmer. But again, I was surprised. I worked for a while on the front yard hedge/bush and some other shrubs, and when I was done, I still had plenty of "e-juice" left over while using only one (1) battery!! Like other cutting units, there is a safety switch that you need to push forward before engaging the power trigger. But once the unit is on, you can simply let the safety switch go. The safety switch is only needed to start the trimmer. I know other units work this way, but I did have a couple of power tools that required the safety switch be engaged the whole time. Fortunately, this unit has the simpler approach, but still with safety in mind. I'm sure if I had a huge yard, this trimmer might not be the ideal unit, but then again, if had a large yard, I'd be smart and buy a trimmer with a longer blade. However, for my needs, this trimmer is excellent. I'm very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • 🤗🤗🤗 NO MORE BROWNING UP MY GRASS WITH THE WEED EATER!!! 🤗🤗🤗 🤗🤗🤗 NO MORE BROWNING UP MY GRASS WITH THE WEED EATER!!! 🤗🤗🤗
This HEINPRO hedge trimmer and grass shears works extremely well and has a great cut quality! The ease of use is demonstrated in my video! The noise level is probably a low medium and it’s super comfortable in my hands. I’m really taken aback at how the vibration doesn’t bother my hands, considering gripping for long or extended periods of time can cause trigger fingers with me sometimes. Also, the size is not overly intrusive and it’s requires just a little getting used to for my intended use of exposing my grassholes that identify my sprinkler heads! It is a little time consuming the first time because I have eighty-five (85) sprinkler heads! 😳😳😳 Now that I’ve exposed them all, it’ll be less time consuming as I can just easily edge up around the grassholes due to the initial exposure work the first time around!!! For $59.99 before tax, this tool is a twofer bargain, that’s compatible with my Milwaukee M18 high output batteries, at a fraction of the cost of Milwaukee tools! 💵💥💰 It’s now up to you to buy your own because this one belongs to me. Now bye from Texas! 👋🏾✌🏾 ... show more

  • Small and Manageable, Nice Tool for Seniors or Someone New to Yardwork
This is not a long trimmer which you probably see in use, and is about half the size (length) of what most gardeners use. But if you have the Milwaukee batteries that are compatible with this, its a great product. It will not have the cutting strength of a larger trimmer, but good for smaller buses with smaller twigs. Fairly quiet and lightweight. .A good introductory trimmer, and easy for me as a senior to handle (and safer too). Remember your safety glasses. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • 1/4” might be the limit on cutting, works well .
Bought this and it didn’t work out for me. I may have been asking too much of this trimmer expecting it to cut 1/2” dry bamboo. Could be good for what it’s really intended for like grass, softer green things.

  • Great tool and great customer service Great tool and great customer service
My favorite yard tool. So much more ergonomic than a full size hedge trimmer and still powerful. Grass trimmer is good for edging. I had an issue with the unit and got an immediate response from HEINPRO. Excellent customer service.

  • Easy to use with one hand and deceivingly powerful! Easy to use with one hand and deceivingly powerful!
I live on the edge of a rainforest. I am CONSTANTLY trimming back the jungle as it tries to swallow my yard and house. This handheld trimmer has surprised me with it's ease of operation and sterling results. While it is small, I found that it powered thru and cut anything green that would fit between the blades. The majority of what I trim are spindly vines that are a nuisance to my fantastic 18 volt battery powered weed whacker because the vines wrap around the head and I must stop every 30 seconds and painstakingly remove them - usually with a knife. Not so with this handheld trimmer! Both head attachments - which remove and install simply and securely - flew thru my vines and never got tangled even once. My M18 batteries worked perfectly in this device: both my newer XC6.0 and my older XC4.0. I enjoyed the precision that this tool affords you as you can dexterioulsy maneuver and cut at all angles effortlessly. I will never again fight the vibes on my fence with my weed whacker. Rather, I will casually walk along side it holding my HEIN PRO handheld trimmer with a smile of approval. 5-stars ... show more

  • Decent Quality for the Price, Should Last for Light Duty Trimming Decent Quality for the Price, Should Last for Light Duty Trimming
Mine had a rattle upon delivery, so I wanted to open it up to make sure it wasn't a blob of solder or something else. It was one of the tabs for the black nose piece, which makes sense, because that is difficult to remove (to access the final screw) without snapping off bits of the tabs. Even using spudgers and being careful. As the pic shows, there is no circuitry whatsoever. Just a clicky on/off switch and a motor. The motor had no markings, but the switch seems sufficiently beefy and is rated 20A at 36V, so that will likely not be the failure point. Most of the case is ABS, but they did use a glass-fiber reinforced plastic/nylon for the parts that matter: gearbox, trimmer attachment housings, and battery terminal connector. The wires seemed tiny, but are likely sufficient for the light-duty. I measured about 2A @ 19V running with the hedge trimmer attachment and no cutting load. Good: * The price (on sale) is reasonable (MW would charge 3x more for slightly higher quality) * Gears and attachments came heavily greased * Gears and moving parts are metal * Attachments are shipped sharp * Simple circuity means any failures will probably be mechanical/broken housing Bad: * No low-voltage cutoff means you could destroy a M18 battery if you run it all the way down. Not a huge issue if you charge the battery when it sounds like it's losing steam (or check the battery lights). Careless users take note! * No silastic, epoxy, or other tiedown methods to protect wiring/connections from vibration. If the tool stops running, it's going to be due to a connection failing. Seems like an easy and cheap (pennies) thing to do during manufacture. Heck, even globbing hot glue around would be better. I may fix this proactively, but the wiring is so simple that it probably makes sense to wait until it fails to upgrade the wires and solder joints. * One point of attachment for the cutting head is a notch in the ABS body, along with 2 nylon-GF tab/hooks. With the lever force of the long cutter, I could see this being the 200lb-gorilla failure point. Take care with exposing it to lateral stress, especially in the up/down direction. All in all, I expect the tool to last for quite a few years for light duty cutting with reasonable care. Keep the blades well oiled and gears greased to avoid bogging down the motor, and don't swing hard into thick brush or load the blade. It appears that the most likely failures can be fixed (when/if), assuming you have minimal mechanical ability. ... show more
