Is it instant heat no! Does take about 15 to 30seconds to heat up but with the lock just turn it on crimp the wires then she’s ready i use the shrink tube attachment an it’s perfect! For $35 well worth every dollar.

I understand that a heat gun draws a lot of power. And for the price it's a great tool to have on hand. However be careful of draining the batteries. Had an issue where a battery got completly drained and had to jump it to get it charging again.

The media could not be loaded. I mainly use heat gun to heat up labels on packages so I can remove to see what the item description is. It takes about 10 seconds to warm up and roughly 20 seconds before you feel max heat. It seems to me that it runs down a battery pretty quick, it don't matter if you leave it on or turn it off after use about 20 min all you gonna get on a 4ah battery and maybe 10 on the 2 ah battery. For what I use it for its acceptable but it kind of feels like the fan motor is pushing harder than the heater. So unless you use it pretty constant your going to have that drag of heat up time each use unless your using before it completely cools
