I’m giving this 4 stars cuz it’s very efficient and works well, plus using any of my 5 Milwaukee batteries is great, but I don’t like that there is no lock button or anything that keep it from moving when you accidentally pull the trigger. Also drains your battery VERY quick.

Size: Yellow for Dewalt Battery
I just tested this knockoff Dewalt tool with one of my knockoff Dewalt batteries and I'm impressed. It feels well-built and balances well in the hand with a 5ah battery. I love the variable speed, which is something you just don't get on corded angle grinders without spending a mint. I think that's going to be VERY useful with flap discs when you're trying to get a nicer finish. The trigger switch feels very well made and is often what feels cheap on a tool like this. The locking button on the side is in a good location and easily manipulated. I tried to stall it out, but had difficulty doing so, even on the lowest speed. The one not-great feature is that the variable speed button down by the battery isn't terribly easy to operate and feels a little cheap. If this is your first grinder and you plan to use it at all, get yourself a dust mask, or, even better, a respirator. You don't want the dust and pieces of your grinding wheel in your lungs.

This came as a surprise, as I thought I was getting the Milwaukee version of the grinder. Fortunately, I have both Dewalt and Milwaukee batteries, so not a biggie. This sounds and acts like an angle grinder. It ramps up upon acceleration so you want to give it a moment to get to full speed. It also is pretty long with the battery attached - about 14 7/8" from the bottom of the battery to the outer edge of a 4 1/2" cutting or grinding wheel. So not the greatest for tight spots, but not many battery-operated angle grinder are. The included side handle can be mounted on either side, which is helpful. I'm old-fashioned and still prefer corded tools whenever I have power available. But I do use battery grinders out doing construction work, especially cutting off nails sticking out where they shouldn't be. And my wife has many times where they are handy when she is doing her car restoration work. The blade guard isn't the heftiest I've seen, but this grinder appears solid and well-made, and is a good price. I did knock off a star because mine came without the locking collar. Fortunately I had an extra for trying it out. And they are readily available at pretty cheap prices. I do not like getting tools missing parts, even cheap ones. Otherwise the wrench, guard, and cutting wheel were there. Just an oversight in packing, or it somehow fell out of the box, although I didn't see it anywhere.

The arbor thread is not 5/8"-11. It has 13 pitch thread but measures .537" major diameter on the arbor. So a 1/2"-13 nut will not fit the arbor thread. The arbor is an unknown thread size. DO NOT LOOSE THE NUT THAT COMES WITH OR THIS GRINDER WILL BE USELESS. It does use Dewalt 20 MAXV batteries as advertised. This grinder will not accept any wire brush attachment if it has a nut on the wire brush.

Good grinder for the money. It has good speed and an extra plus that it accepts DeWalt batteries and does not use a proprietary battery. Had it done that, I would not have got it. It doesn't weigh a lot, and has good balance and doesn't feel clunky in my hands. I like the looks and how I am able to maneuver it around the work. Glad I got it.
