I gave this a try because one of my most favorite coffees I've tried is Guatemala from Colectivo out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mexico and Del Sol are also some of my favorites from them. As much as I love the coffee I cant justify spending that much on coffee every so often, so I searched for a bargain Brew. This one does not compare to Colectivo, but is still very good on its own merits. A very consistent lighter Brew. Even though it's light it does not taste weak, it has a full smooth flavor. I'd say this is definitely worth the price.

I've been buying the Sumatra blend for a while now and the quality has always been the same; very good. If you're looking for good whole bean coffee for practically a steal, Copper Moon Coffee is a great choice. I brew it over ice (pour-over) and drink it cold, generally within 24 hours. They seem to roast their beans darker than what I'd normally expect, but it's easy to find a roast you like with the variety they have unless you like proper light roast coffee.

Sumatran coffees are typically my favorites but there's something about this roast that was a little "off" for me. A visual inspection of the beans showed various darkness versus what is stated to be a "dark roast". There's a slightly off-putting smell - a trifle oily - to the beans before and after grinding. I tried preparing this a number of different ways: a coarse-ground cold brew using a french press at moderate strength (concentration) and a finely group espresso at a variety of strengths. The overall flavor was ok. There are just so many other options - many of them less expensive - that I would choose. I would not recommend this generally to friends for the same reason. The package was received on time without any damage. The vacuum seal was intact. So I don't perceive this to be any problem with the seller/distributor. Maybe a just got a bag from a bad roast/batch. I'm not really a coffee "snob" - I enjoy a variety of different brands, origins, and blends - but I won't be purchasing this one again.

If you like a Sumatra, this is very good. I used it in my espresso machine. I would rate it: 7 out of 10 on strength/boldness, not week, but not as strong as some dark espresso. 9 out of 10 on overall flavor. It has a distinctly earthy flavor but very good. I can easily drink this coffee black. Its not at all bitter. I wouldn't call it sweet, but more neutral. Overall, this is a very good coffee, especially for the price so long as you are not turned off by the relatively strong earthiness taste.
