  • Efficient, Quiet, Worth the price
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
This is THE unit if you’re building a stand alone solar system for a small space. I installed this unit on/in my camper (130sq ft) and holly **** it only uses about 400 watts at constant average, and it keeps the camper at 79deg easily. WORTH the price

  • Very Happy with this Mini Split
Size: 18,000 BTU, 230V
Very Happy with this unit. Everything seems quality. Well finished and put together. Works very nicely. Provided good heat at 0 degrees out last night. Very quiet, good features. Easy to install.

  • Very good unit, But the install manual could use a little more detail
Size: 36,000 BTU, 230V (16FT Kit)
Real DIY Install Feedback: Fit & Finish The wall template is accurate — but drilling a 3.25″ hole (instead of the manual’s 3.54″) provides a snug fit and looks cleaner. The included wall sleeve is flimsy — I made a sturdier one from PVC pipe instead. Line Set & Tools Despite being “pre-charged,” you must cut and flare the copper lines to match your install length. A tube cutter and flaring tool are essential. You’ll need to evacuate the lines and indoor unit, and since my gauge set was R-134a, I had to get an adapter to fit the R-410a service port. I used the following R410A-to-R134A adapter: https://www.amazon.com/R410A-Adapter-Refrigerant-Conditioners-Straight/dp/B0F3N9CWFL/ref=sr_1_1?crid=7H0KUS9YTE1X&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.hKHXduRR-lbRFALddt5fUg.k0a5N7qliGaS4f5N0L-2-aN3AquMyKlSlDZHs0B_DU4&dib_tag=se&keywords=B0F3N9CWFL&qid=1751762697&s=hi&sprefix=b0f3n9cwfl%2Ctools%2C109&sr=1-1 which worked flawlessly. Unexpected Hiss When removing the factory caps on the indoor unit, I heard a hiss of air escaping — likely vacuum. Since it's not called out in the manual, it caught me off guard. It was not an issue just unexpected. Electrical Hookup The system runs on 240V only—just L1, L2, and ground — no neutral required. Completely correct, but not typical in US installs and not clearly stated in the manual. Panel Access Quirk The front panel hinges upward for low-voltage wiring, but there's only one prop rod, and it's on the opposite side from the connection area — awkward for accessing controls and the wireless module. Smartphone App Setup was a breeze — intuitive, responsive, and works great. Performance Running now and it’s extremely quiet inside and out. No vibration, and comfort is noticeably improved. Humidity control is exceptional. Highly recommended if you care about quiet, efficient operation. Bottom Line This is a genuinely DIY-friendly mini-split with excellent performance — but expect to: Drill a slightly smaller wall hole Fabricate or source a sturdier wall sleeve Purchase cutting, flaring, and evacuation tools (or rent/hire) Add an R-134a to R-410a adapter if your gauge set isn’t pre-R-410a Be alert for the indoor-unit hiss when removing caps Understand the unusual 240V-only wiring setup If you install it yourself, you're going to enjoy quiet comfort, stellar dehumidification, and smart controls — as long as you plan ahead for the minor quirks. ... show more

  • General review
Size: 36,000 BTU, 230V (16FT Kit)
I purchased this with skepticism not ever hearing of this brand but I am very surprised with how well it has been working. When I finished installing the unit I thought it wasn't working but then I felt the cold air and realized they are whisper quiet. The same goes for the outside unit. You can only hear it run if your standing within 5 or 6 feet from the unit. Very hard to believe but it seems to be well designed. As far as efficiency the return line going back to the unit is still cold so it tells me that it isnt the most efficient or the interior coil is too small for the outside unit for the 3 ton unit. I did the install myself and they are very simple for someone with basic household skills. Just make sure you evac the line set before you release the freon into the system and make sure your pressure is correct. It will improve the life of your unit. Total time for the installation through a concrete wall was around 10 hours start to finish. The one downfall I do notice is the fan on the inside unit stays running maybe there is something I'm doing wrong but it would be nice to turn the fan off when the unit isnt cooling. All and all I'm happy with the purchase and I would recommend this brand after 2 months of use. ... show more

  • Quiet and cold!
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
Bought four units. Installed myself. They are quiet and put out cold instantly. I did not buy them all at once so some were shipped by Amazon, some by truck. Like: everything. Keeps my bedroom crisp. The quality is good. Disliked: I'm no electrician but I can manage. It would be helpful if the wiring diagrams were clearer, example: diagram speaks of brown, blue etc. wires, but you are dealing with red/black etc. Guess not a problem for true electrician, but it took me a while. Luckily if you miswire, unit will not blow up but throw you a code. Otherwise I'd be in trouble... Also, which is kinda crappy, if not installed by licensed electrician, warranty is not honored. But I took my chances since having someone put it up would double the price. I've put up DIY Mr. Cool unit before and I cannot tell the difference in installation. Unit comes precharged. If you're getting same unit I attached pics. Also, usb dongle for wifi controlling is a nice touch. I've been using my first for about a year now with absolutely no problems. Price wise, I bought 6000 btu 21.5 SEER unit for about $700. For that price now, you can get 9000 btu unit with SEER of 24. Now in the market for a 24000btu unit... Hint to the manufacturer: it would be much nicer if the remote keys were backlit as using it at night requires the use of some outside light source. Cheap fix... ... show more

  • Definitely would not recommend
Size: 36,000 BTU, 230V (16FT Kit)
I have owned this unit four years. I would warn anyone who is considering purchasing a Cooper-Hunter product to reconsider. It completely under performs (to say the very least) and there are too many negatives to list here. I have it installed in a completely open floor plan 1200 square foot house that is insulated above and beyond the standard and this unit fails. Worse yet, the "customer service" in my opinion is reprehensible. Be warned when considering this product or this company. ... show more
