What room size can this Cooper & Hunter mini split heat and cool effectively? The MIA Series efficiently heats and cools spaces from 150-1,500 sq ft depending on BTU capacity chosen - ask your technician first. The inverter adjusts power for your comfort, reducing energy costs up to 40% compared to traditional HVAC systems. Do I need professional installation for this mini split system? Yes, professional installation is required by the manufacturer, and must be registered with Cooper & Hunter directly (within 60 days of installation). The installation kit is included in your order. The condenser comes pre-charged with refrigerant. Does this mini split provide both heating and cooling year-round? Absolutely! This AC heat pump system delivers powerful cooling in summer and efficient heating at 5°F in winter. The advanced inverter technology maintains consistent temperatures while operating quietly, perfect for bedrooms and living spaces. Can I control the temperature using my phone or voice assistants? Yes! Each system comes with a Smart Kit. Once connected to the C&H app, you can control (temparature/timer/etc.) from your smartphone. • Good- so far
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
This was a good purchase--so far. I was hesitant because of mixed reviews but the unit arrived on time, was well packaged, installation went well and it works fine. The instructions are clear and came with an accessory kit that is pretty chintzy but mostly does the job (i would be annoyed if i had paid extra for it). The unit works well so far in the spring but hasn't been tested in summer or winter. I purchased an outside wall mount separately on Amazon but the outside unit's feet are an open-side-down U channel and do not fit the width of the wall mount arms or the isolation pads that came with either the mount (circular and too big) or the minisplit (rectangular and probably for floor mounting) - so I had to add additional parts. Not sure if these dimensions are available but something to be prepared for. Also, the lineset pipe-wrap doesn't stick to itself or anything else so be prepared to deal with that. The electrical/control cable ends have connectors on the ends which fit the outside unit, but not the inside unit so they have to be removed. The condensate drain line is pretty flimsy. Little annoying things, but my so far I would buy again. ... show more

  • So far - really nice!
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
Got this unit to keep a Conex container from getting scorching hot during the summer months. I have WiFi and Security Camera DVR that I cannot let get over 90 degrees or it will overheat. Installed it (see pics) and insulated the container.....today it is almost 100 degrees and this system is set at 82 and it is keeping temperature with no problem. It is extremely quiet. Installation was a breeze - I did everything and then had my HVAC tech connect the line set. It's been running for about a month now and all is good! ... show more

  • By FAR the worst experience I've had with a seller. Can't REALLY return an item
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
The unit itself is OK. It's quiet and heats when you set it to heat, and cools when you set it to cool. Auto mode doesn't work, but that's not the point. If I could give 0 stars for the purchase and return experience, I would. DO NOT BUY unless you're willing to accept you'll have to pay half the cost of the unit (at best) to be able to return the item, even if it's still in its original packaging, shrink-wrapped on its original pallet. I bought the 6000 BTU unit, and it arrived with a leak (the box was even wet). I spoke with an HVAC tech and they said it would be cheaper to buy a new unit than repair it, so I went ahead and started a return and ordered a new unit. In the meantime, another HVAC tech contacted me and said he could actually repair it for around $400, so I did that and tried to cancel the new order, but it was too late. The response to the original return was that I would be responsible for the cost of return shipping (around $230 at best) and charged a restocking fee with a minimum of 20% of the cost of the unit (so another $130). That was if the unit was in brand new condition in original packaging. Mine arrived broken and the boxes were destroyed, so that fee would have been even higher (up to 50%, so about $325). To return a broken item, I would have to pay almost the same amount of money as I would just buying a whole new unit. This is not a "return policy". They said they could arrange a pickup of the old broken unit and send out a replacement. I thought "okay, awesome", and said I already ordered a replacement that had just been delivered. They said that couldn't be treated as the original's replacement, and I'd still have to pay for return shipping on whichever one I returned. So I'm back to having this $650 mini split in its original box, shrink-wrapped on its original pallet unless I want to spend a minimum of $360 to send it back for ~$300 in a refund if I'm lucky and it doesn't get damaged in shipping. No thanks. Never buying from this company again, and doing whatever I can to prevent anyone else from making the same mistake I did. This all could have been prevented if I could just treat this new unit as a replacement for the old one. ... show more

  • Impressive! Great value!
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
I had to take a few minutes after recieving yet another awesome electric bill. I was so concerned that this would spike my electrical cost and I couldn't have been more wrong. We installed this unit on our seasonal 400 sg ft cabin New England weather is always tricky and changes quickly. This unit has served us well! From the chilly raining season it kept us toasty. Now experiancing the heat and humidity we couldn't be happier with it's perforance. The dry feature was a life saver, keeping the humidity out and now the A/C keeps us cool and comfortable. My total electric bill was less than $100. After seeing the benefit of just that one "dry" feature we installed one in my sons basement office. If worked wonderfully. We also recently installed two in a dear friends house and saved her $1000's of dollars compared to the big name mini splits! We are just about to order yet another for another cabin. This is a product I can recommend without any hesitation! ... show more

  • Seems large for the capacity I purchased
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
Seems like a solid unit. My only complaint so far is that it physically is pretty large based on the btu rating I purchased (6000)

  • 10/10 from HVAC Tech
Size: 6,000 BTU, 115V
Over all unit is great. Cools and heats very well. A lot of people complain about leaks but I can tell you that most leaks are due to install error. Unless the leak is in the actual indoor or outdoor coil then that’s the manufacturer fault. The WiFi feature is nice. You can set a schedule with specific mode, temp and even airflow. Also on the low fan speed this thing is almost quiet. It’s mounted right above my bed and I can’t hear a thing when it’s running. ... show more
