Let’s talk about what this blanket is, and what it is not. First, what it is: this blanket is much cooler than most blankets. It is made of soft, silky fabric that is quite light and feels cool when you first put it on yourself. It doesn’t retain heat very much, like most blankets will do. Now, for what the blanket is not: This blanket is NOT cooler than a simple bedsheet. It is also NOT cooler than simply having no blanket at all. The description and pictures on this item imply that you would actually be cooler with this blanket than without. That’s not true. The blanket does keep you slightly warmer than having no blanket at all, or simply having a flat sheet over you (a non-fuzzy sheet, of course). However, this blanket does give you the reassuring weight of having a blanket, with slight warmth, but while still being much cooler than any other blanket I have tried in the past. In cooler weather, having this blanket between you and a layer of other blankets will keep you much cooler, and prevent overheating much better than just the other blankets alone. Using this blanket by itself does minimize the trapped heat and keep you cooler, when compared to a normal blanket. Basically, this is the coolest blanket I have tried- but it’s still a blanket. The coolest option is always having no blanket or covering at all. However, I personally prefer to always have some type of covering, so this works perfectly. I can still use a blanket, even when it would normally be too hot for one. So, if you are looking for a light blanket that doesn’t trap the heat, then this is a good blanket for you. If you are looking to be as cool as possible, you are best off using a regular sheet or not using a blanket at all.

This is great if you want the weight of a blanket but don’t want to be hot in the summer. Only major drawback for me is that it can’t be tumbled dry. The instructions are to hang dry in the shade. Otherwise very nice. One side is cotton so it’s soft to the touch.

Despite many good reviews I was still skeptical that this blanket would actually make me feel cooler. I'm pleasantly surprised at it's effectiveness. I have hot flashes during sleep and wake up sweating. I pull this blanket over me, silky side on my skin, and feel instantly cooled and refreshed... almost like you have a refrigerated blanket. If it gets a little warmer as you have it on you can just move it around a bit and it feels cool again. I'm 5'6 and it covers me head to toe with room to spare. I've washed it and had no issues with shrinkage, although I did line dry it. I really recommend this blanket if you have hot flashes or are just a warm sleeper.

I sleep HOT. This blanket is amazing. It's almost icy. Now...because I do sleep so hot, the blanket does warm up a little but all I have to do is shift around some and it cools right back down. It's lightweight enough to travel with...stuff it in your carry-on. If you worry about matching decor, it's a light silvery gray. Oh...and it's really soft too!

I have 2 of these for my King sized bed. I wanted a smaller one for the couch. I don't think this one works as well as my other one's. One side seems to be cooling material while the other side seems kind of thick and hot. However, it is the perfect size for the couch.

I like this thin twin sized cooling blanket. One side is made of a cooling fabric that feels cool to the touch. The other side is made of cotton so it can be used as a lightweight blanket. Both sides are soft and comfortable. The stitching on the binding is good. The cooling side is great for hot summers. The cotton side can be used on cooler evenings. It can be folded small and is easy to carry in a bag while traveling. It is machine washable at low temperatures.
