Made with high density polyethylene (HDPE) this fabric is not only fade resistant itself but blocks harmful UV rays which also protect your furniture, tiling, or decking from fading. It's easy to clean and will not fade, crack or rot. The frame is constructed out of sturdy, yet lightweight powder-coated aluminum poles which are corrosion resistant for superior long life. Beyond a reduction in temperature, the fabric is earth-friendly, recyclable, and endorsed by GreenGuard, the Melanoma International Foundation, and Oeko-Tex. This is my second pergola. My first one is still going strong after 4+ years. The delivery was perfect: right on time, extremely pleasant drivers & the package was in pristine condition. I'm using this pergola at my horse barn over the wash rack. I still have to haul some crushed stone under it and place my rubber mats on top of those. I am assembling this by myself. I first look for the instruction sheet. I took it inside and studied it. As far as the instructions go they are adequate. I've assembled many things and that is why I look to the instruction sheet often - it saves time having to take it apart if you make a mistake. I do all the preassembly that I can under the carport then take the pieces to the site as I need them. It started to rain so I am at a standstill for a day or so. I will update later. Update: Finished on Wednesday. I am a 61 year old small woman & assembled this by myself. This weekend I will place crushed stone underneath & put my rubber mats on top of that. One bolt was missing threads otherwise everything was in the box! ... show more

Assembly is a bit rough but once up looks and works great. However- I left it up all winter and the shade ripped. Can I order a replacement shade only? I can’t find information or a customer service contact. Thank you.

My landlord was going to fix the 7'x9' concrete pad on the back of the house, but it turned out to not be fixable...so he installed a 10'x12' wooden deck! I'd laid some outdoor carpet & stapled it down off the concrete years ago, but the ground was uneven so furniture wobbled. Now I have plenty of room for furniture! As it turns out, I could have had this pergola even w/o a deck, as it comes with ground stakes! I put it together by myself (except for needing someone to just hold 2 legs while I attached the cross pieces). I made a couple of mistakes & one or 2 of the holes weren't machined 100% correctly, but it was no problem at all. My job would have been made a lot easier had I thought to get out my battery operated screwdriver. I clipped solar panels to the top cross braces for Edison lights. This does make some noise in the wind, with the fabric panel rods rolling slightly back & forth...but we're already used to it. ... show more

It looks very nice and is very nice to sit under when the sun is shining! Seems a little bit on the flimsy side, but have had no issues with it yet. It did come with minor scratches from the factory, though, because the delivery box was in perfect condition.....nothing major and no big dents. Ours measures 89 inches from the deck to the top of the post cap which is the highest point. From outside post to outside post it measures 108 inches one way and 106 inches the other way. ( we measured from the top of the posts too) The post “feet” are 6 inches square. The posts themselves are 4 inches by 4 inches. And....The top rails stick out 6 inches from the outside of the post. Hope this helps. Update: It’s been 2 months now and we love it so far! Absolutely no issues with anything! I’m increasing the rating to a 5 star. New Update: It's been 2 years now and still works and looks like new. We take the canopy off for the winter but leave the rest up. Well worth the money. ... show more

I got this when it was on sale for $380, I wouldn't pay more than that. It is lite, about 60lbs, one support beam came with a small dent, not enough for me to send it back. I just positioned that at the back next to the fence. One plastic clip on the center beam was broken, I've emailed the seller to get that piece replaced. It went up in about an hour or so. Would be quicker with 2+ people. I am a 5'6" 130 lb woman and managed to put this together by myself. The trick is to build it next to something you can strap it up right to whole you attach the other posts. The only part that took awhile was the center beam with the cord,l. The instructions really don't say which way to face it, had my stationary clip not been broken and the rope tied through, I would have gotten it a lot quicker. This is on a concrete patio so I will be bolting it down, nice amount of shade. This isn't a tarp do it won't stop the rain. If you don't know what coolaroo shade screen is, the next time you're at a garden nursery, look up. Update. It's now May 2017. The canopy has been up for 1 year. Only come across two issues. The metal is fading. But this is Florida and we are only about a mile from the sun. The canopy is still in good condition. No rips or fading on the fabric. It survived a hurricane outside. All we did as tie the canopy back to the posts. The canopy is bolted down with spikes so we weren't taking it down. The rope did not last the year. But we had a second center beam the company sent us so we just swapped them out. So far still loving this. ... show more

I love this! Got a great deal on it back during the winter months. Took a while for me to put it together (mostly by myself). We had a couple screws that wouldn't line up but other than that, it wasn't too hard to put together

This pergola is perfect! I put it together & installed myself (30 y/o female) up until it was time to hang the shade. Hubby had to help with that but I probably could have done it alone, he just happened to get home from work. The shade really does help with the sun! It lets done light through but it's so much cooler underneath, especially on those 95° days in south Georgia summers when taking a break from yardwork. We mounted it to the concrete patio also with concrete screws. We usually close the shade up during storms because it makes me a little nervous with the wind (there was an incident which involved me chasing an 8 foot umbrella across our yard in a storm once) but no issues with a heavy breeze. Overall, couldn't be happier for the price we paid compared to some similar options. ... show more
