  • Available for the price at the time I needed it. This is a bit of an experiment
This tire was half the price of the one it replaced which picked up a nail. I had bought the existing Michelin PR4GT as part of a set and they were about half worn out. I couldn't find many reviews of this tire, so I'm taking a chance that it'll last as long as the tread left in the front Michelin. I'll update this when I find out. Why do I think this? This is on a Kawasaki Concours C-14 which is a heavy and powerful bike. I ride sedately, so I'm optimistic. This Conti seems to have a single compound construction and the Michelins have a dual compound construction for longer life. I'll update this later. ... show more

  • Looking for high mileage? ContiMotion or Shinko? ContiMotion 9000 max mi, Shinko 14,000 mi !!
I've had several Continental Contimotion tires and I get about 8000 maybe 9000 miles max (rear tire). This is running the tire to the 2nd cord. Which is all it has. The 1st cord is steel then the 2nd cord is nylon. Once you start running the tire to where the steel strands start breaking the strands poke back into the tire and the tire will very slowly leak air. The Shinko rear tire I bought after this ContiMotion tire lasted 14,000 miles. I did run the tire to the 3rd cord. It was only on a small area of the tire. DO NOT ride the tire into or past the 3rd cord! DONT even start breaking the strands on the 3rd cord as this is the last cord! The Shinko is all cord no steel strands. My driving is 95% highway to work & back. One thing I want to mention is the ContiMotion wore very evenly, meaning the whole tire almost wore to the 1st cord at the same time. The Shinko had 1 spot that got to the the 3rd cord while the rest of the tire pretty much was still showing rubber. Maybe I skidded the back tire at some point that I don't recall. I feel like I could have got 15,000 mi had that one spot not made it to the 3rd cord. I cut the tires to be sure of the number of cords each tire has. Contimotion is the bigger tire in the pics. The Shinko tire is the highest mileage tire I've had & higher than other sport touring tires of other riders I know. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Good rubber at a great price
I ride this tire exclusively on my hayabusa. The tire life for me is an average 7,500 to 8,800 miles. I ride straight up, not aggressive, but fast and never had a problem in over 109,000 miles.

  • Seen worse and seen better mileage. Ok mileage for price, decent traction.
This is a replacement for one I've got mounted on a Concours 14. I've never had an issue with traction, but didn't get much mileage out of the first one. The front is still doing well so I ordered another rear that will probably wear out about the time the front does. Tire was shipped very quickly and the price was good. ... show more

  • great tire
I installed this tire on my 2002 cbr954rr. I've been riding with it now for a few months and the ride is comfortable. I thought traction would have been a small issue, however I have been impressed with how well it grips so far. As of now, I have not noticed any wear after a few hundred miles.

  • Not for long trips...
Went on a 1,000 mile trip, roads where curvy but not crazy. The tire held, but for how long? The rubber was melting off at a very fast pace. I would recommend this tire if you just need rubber on your bike and do not plan going for trips.
