  • LOTS of work but worth it!
The media could not be loaded. In short, this is an amazing set! If you want high quality parts for a low maintenance future, this is it! (Sorry in video I have #5 instead of 4# and typo from phone on spelling) For my crazy long review read on: Disclaimer: I’m in the IT career and not much of a handyman. It took me ~3 months of mostly Saturdays with a few after work weekdays per week. It took me extra long because I had to measure everything since I didn’t have great craftsmanship experience. Take what I say with a grain of salt. Here’s my suggestions for future “buyers”: * I’m telling you, no joke, INVENTORY EVERYTHING the moment you get the delivery. I lost a LOT of time just trying to “wing it” putting it together instead of putting all the hardware in nice little organized piles. Turns out I was missing 2 pieces of lumber and some hardware (see last section on seller review). Trust me, label all your hardware before you screw a single board. * Your kids CAN help you!!! My 7 year old was great help. The other 4 kids were too little to help. I can’t count the number of screws I dropped from up high that she grabbed for me or even the “hold your finger here” deal (or bringing me tools while up high) * While you need “a” drill, I recommend bare minimum of 3 drills but 4 if you can. I borrowed a bunch. Switching between drivers and bits is a huge time waste. Simply picking up another drill is light speed. * For a nerd like me, there are parts of the instructions that I couldn’t understand, have someone look at the instructions with you for confusing parts, it helps. * For every page, read ahead at least ~2-3 pages to ensure you get the “big picture “ and put it together right. There are a few pages of the directions that “seem” clear but then the next page or few, SURPRISE, you did it wrong and now have to undo it and see how it should have been. (Eg the picture shows 2 wood boards flush on top of each other but then the next page it requires there be a gap all of a sudden) * Do NOT leave your lumber outside long. Mine was outside for 3 months so when I picked up boards they were wet and green from the pressure treated wood inside. * In my hot Colorado climate, the vinyl has already warped so a bit around screw holes. When I went to drill holes the vinyl didn’t always line up with the pre-drilled holes. I had to cut it sometimes to match. * “T nuts” are by far the most annoying hardware to deal with. I would suggest ditching the instructions about pounding them in first and then crossing your fingers the bolt you screw in will actually hit the hole correctly. Better yet, if the bolt is long enough, push it through all the way, barely screw on T bolt, lightly hammer it in, then unscrew the bolt, hammer it in fully, and then screw it in. I lost a lot of time trying to align those dang holes. * The super twisty slide is probably the hardest part of the whole thing. The instructions say an extra adult but I barely did it with 2. 3 adults would be optimal. Here’s my review to the “seller”: * you are selling a genuinely great product * It would be AMAZING if you packaged your hardware in labeled bags for people like me who don’t know the “visual” difference between the tiniest of fractions of screws. * The instructions are decent but the company doesn’t match the name when I call in. Maybe just a simple update and also add an email for support (remove the fax). * I called your company twice: 1) I didn’t get about half my hardware on delivery. They were kind to explain that due to supply chain issues the other half was shipped separately (low and behold I looked like a fool simply going to my mailbox that day to find it! ) 2) i was missing lumber which greatly surprised me (i mean that’s not something you can run to lowes for) and a handful of hardware. They resolved it for me. In short, great customer service which was refreshing. ... show more
