I purchased this for my new puppy before he arrived. I chose this style because I liked the easy assembly and disassembly, as well as the door set up. I used the supplied rubber post/spike end protectors to protect my indoor floor. I also purchased a huge washable pee pad to set it on. The pee pad covers a large area rug. I also duct taped small pieces of cardboard in front of each front spike, to prevent them from being bumped off the pad and onto the laminent floor. Fortunately, my pup never really jumped against the panels very much. The few times he did, a stern scolding pretty much stopped his jumping. However, be forewarned... If you have a jumper, no matter where you use this pen, DO NOT EVER leave you dog along in the pen with a collar on!! When my pup was just tall enough standing on his hind legs to reach to top level of the spikes/pins, his collar got hooked over the spike/post ends, and he could have choked to death hanging by his collar! Luckily he could stand up high enough until I came back in the house and "saved him". I was only outside about 10 minutes. It scared him enough that he never did that again. Scared me enough that I never left him alone in the pen with his collar on!! ...for several months anyway. He's big enough now and calm enough that I no longer worry about this issue. Other than that, this pen is super quality, and I'm still using it daily. My pup is now 6 months old, a pit-lab mix. He uses this when ever I need to go outside for a short time...15-20 minutes...tending my chickens. He's been trained to be good to get treats when I come back. For longer time periods, he's kennel trained. I feel that this pen was an excellent purchase. It's nice to look at in the house, sturdy, and well made. The door is easy to open and close, and a GREAT feature for both myself and my pup. It's extremely easy to take apart and put together. I loved these playpens so much that I have bought three of them in the last month. I use two as indoor playpens at home and office and one as an outdoor playpen for potty training. They work great in both applications. They are very easy to set up when we travel with the puppies. My only advice would be to start with the gate portion when you assemble it, because I have set the entire thing up only to realize that I have created a situation where the gate latch is facing inside to the dogs. Easy enough to reverse, just unnecessary work. Another nice thing with these playpens is that I could always combine two of them together to create one much larger playpen area for the dogs. The system to lay them flat and attach a handle for Easy Transport works exactly as it should and makes them very easy to take with you for travel. ... show more

With 2 rescue dogs that weren't potty trained I needed help! This pen is light but sturdy and easy to assemble. It actually looks nice and now we can work on potty training. The pros - stylish, easy to put together, easy to move around, customizable size as puppy grows (4,5,6,7,or 8 panels), can use indoors & outdoors (stakes can go in ground or be capped if using indoors). Only two cons - not super sturdy (not for large breeds) and the door latch is not very secure - must check to be sure it latches properly. I’m interested to see how long it lasts. This is so easy to assemble and it’s the perfect size for my dog during the day. She adjusted to it quickly. I also like the fact that I can use it outside too and just push the rods in the ground to secure it. If you have a bigger dog I think they would scratch up your floors with it because it slides around without much effort so I would get some kind of mat to make it stay put. ... show more

Sturdy build and feels high quality. But not really great if you need something indoors that you move around a lot. The rubber feet fall off occasionally, the fence is just a bit too heavy to move more than two panels around at time, and the opening and closing of the gate is very noisy indoors.
