Even though it came with an inline water filter, I decided to buy my own since my area has known water issues and I didn't want to have to change it out every three months or so. I use it for when we have additional ice needs that our upstairs ice maker on the refrigerator/freezer can't keep up with. This machine makes a 5x8 inch slab of quality ice perfect for the car every 15 minutes or so. It has no problems keeping up. I have also turned it on the night prior to going for a run for adding to an ice bath for a cold water soak. The media could not be loaded. This unit is pretty small and does not keep ice frozen but it surprisingly works very good. I set it up very easy, use only bottled water and in 2 days had about 12 bags of ice. You must remove styrofoam seal under cap of bottled water or water cannot flow correctly, no water error will come on. (Just fyi) It is set up at my oilfield office so i only use it 6hrs a day and turn it off overnight. I ordered ice bags on amazon also to store ice. It is easy to keep clean, works fast and does not waste water. It has been worth the investment where water from tap is poor quality. ... show more

We run an electrical contracting company and keep this ice machine in our warehouse. Our employees are in and out of the warehouse all day grabbing ice for drinks, waters, coolers, etc. and it supplies more than enough ice for a 24 hour period. My wife and I use a ton of ice. We drink ice water from the time we get up until we switch to cocktails in the evening. The icemaker in our refrigerator (Samsung) has never worked properly so we resorted to old fashioned ice trays. They were a pain the behind, so I purchased this ice maker. We both really like it, however, my wife says she will never be without it again. She absolutely loves it. It makes ice quickly, I have mine set on 8 minutes. Any longer and the ice kicks out too thick to break up easily. We start the machine in the evening and it makes enough ice to last until the next evening, so we always have plenty of ice. If we want to fill a cooler, we start it up and within an hour we have more than enough to fill a small cooler. I am very happy with this machine. ... show more

We needed a low-priced icemaker to help us keep up on football tailgate weekends, and this seemed a good choice. It makes a TON of ice, so I think we made the right choice for the price. Some units are literally 4-x as much, and I suspect are the ones that keep cubes frozen as they're made (this one keeps them cold, so you have to empty it as it gets filled). We had a contractor install, and had an issue with the drain tube not being fully attached leading to a leak. We figured it out, and it was not a huge deal, but I'd suggest not leaving the house the first 24 hours of use to make sure you don't have the same issue. I'd say we'd buy it again. ... show more

The ice maker is exactly as described. I purchased this item because I wanted the ability to use a 5 gallon bottle as well as plumb it into my water line. Both of those are extremely easy. It works as described. The ice is made quickly and consistently. There is however, an issue that makes things a little misleading. The bin will "hold 35 pounds" is certainly not accurate in most instances. The ice is dumped in sheets of 45 cubes each cycle. Those sheets will sometimes break up when they fall, but generally remain in fairly large clusters. These clusters stack up MUCH faster than individual ice cubes would stack, so, when you go to empty the bin and fill bags or coolers or whatever, there is really less than 20 pounds in the bin, and the ice maker has stopped making ice because it is "full". If the ice maker dumped individual ice cubes it would probably hold 35 pounds easily, but it doesn't, so that's a bit misleading. I got this to use for filling coolers for fishing and other outdoor activities, so I have to go out every couple of hours and fill up a couple of bags until I have 10 bags or so in my freezer. This keeps me from needing to stop at the store and pay $2.50 for one 7 pound bag of ice. I give it high marks because, so far, it works well and was very easy to get going. I have no doubts that it will make 100 pounds every day...if you keep the bin emptied out multiple times. Just don't plan on having 35 pounds of usable ice in the bin if you run it overnight.     • Terrible without water line hookup

My review is based on using a water jug for your water supply. Once I got the drainage set up properly the icemaker worked great for about 2 days. Then one of the times I replaced the water jug on top I started getting an error, E2. The jug was full of water, I replaced it a few times but still no luck. In the book that came with it, the E2 error covers a long list of items related to water supply issues that apparently I have not been able to fix. At the end of the day I should not be having these problems with a product that I've had less than a week. ... show more
