This may be the most comfortable chair I have ever purchased. The seat has thick firm padding with a leather like covering. The back rest hits my back at just the right spot and moves just enough. The wheels roll very nicely even on a tile floor with wide grout lines. The chrome frame is a little less shiny than most chrome making it look almost brushed. I bought this chair for my husband as a gift. The chair that he used prior to this one had no back and it tipped over a lot due to the wheel placement. He has a brain injury and doesn’t have the best balance. He works out in his shop when he can. He has not tipped over on it. The assembly was a little tricky for him due to his Brain Injury. He loves the chair and the back rest. I would definitely purchase this item again. I gave it four stars because it would’ve been nice if there were a tray around the bottom to put tools on. Another reviewer mentioned the inability to adjust the seat height, well I concur. Once assembled, I raised the seat to an elevated height - I need a stool for a tilt-surface drawing table. The product description claims a seat height of 26.97" - mine seems permanently stuck at 25" - and that's not good enough for working at the tilt-top drawing table. You might think the difference between 25" and 26.97" isn't that much but, when sitting on the soft seat, body weight compresses the cushion almost 2". I'm not certain I can separate the column from the seat so returning it may be impossible. ... show more

I bought these after returning two others on Amazon as they were not soft. These stools are much wider circumference and have memory foam so soft! We sit in surgery for 6 hours at a time and regular stools cut circulation off to our legs but these are so soft! They are wide so your weight is concentrated on a larger area of support . HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We will be buying more of these for our other office. ... show more
