Depending on what you are looking for, this is a good compromise instead of a dedicated massage chair. It is not quite as functional as a full chair, with less massage techniques, but probably has the most features of any pad that you can just put on a chair or sofa, which is nice if space is an issue or if you just want to upgrade an office chair. I like how this chair has the addition of air bags, which actually are more useful than I expected. I will note that this unit is fairly heavy and large, so it needs a fairly large and sturdy chair to operate on. This massager is very relaxing and relieving, as I spend most of my day sitting in front of a computer. My only minor complaint is that when the back massager moves up towards my shoulders, it causes the neck massager to disengage contact, but I think this is an inherent issue with a device that has both a back and neck massager. This is the best massage chair I have come across. It works your body from neck to thighs. The intensity and areas worked can be selected on the remote which is connected to the chair. It is portable and can be plugged into your car's lighter outlet if you choose to buy that cord. I've had back pain and Surgeries since 2016, and this chair helps my back.     • This massager does the job
I've owned massage chairs before, but none of them ever really did much. However, this unit does. Unlike my massage chairs, which were wimpy by comparison, this chair really works on the muscles. The 2D/3D balls work from side to side while traveling up and down to give a deep massage. There is also the option of a more traditional massage with rollers going up and down. The air option adds pressure to your sides and thighs giving a more rounded massage. I've been having trouble with my neck muscles being tight. The neck massage with the balls rotating clockwise or counterclockwise really works on those trigger points. I usually do one way and then the other. However, in order for them to work on my neck I had to put down a 2" thick chair cushion. I 'm 5' 5", which is supposed to be within the range. The heat and vibration options are nice, though I can't use vibration with the seat cushion. I had planned on using this on my office chair, which is basically identical to the one in the pictures, but the curvature of the office chair back made it a little uncomfortable. So, mine is on the floor leaning against the wall. I have not tried this on something like a sofa or chair with a cushioned backrest. The unit does have an auto shut-off after 15 minutes, which is the recommended massage duration. All in all, this unit really does the job to work the tension out of my back and neck. I was expecting something made by “Comfier” to be, I don’t know, comfortable. If you have lower back pain, I would not recommend this to you or anyone else unless they enjoy pain. This seat is so hard & the massage balls are so large, even the vibration feature is stupidly made. 3 settings of Vibration and none of them are steady. The massage balls move up and down, but you can’t get them to go away if you just want vibration. it’s a form of torture to sit in this thing. It’s the least comfortable massage pad I’ve ever tried. I was worried about this purchase at the time as it was only 4.3 stars and on the expensive side. However, it is absolutely excellent! It massages your lower and upper back, neck, and shoulders in multiple ways that get out even the most stubborn knots. It took a while to realize you can adjust the height of the rollers and at first, I thought that it simply wouldn't reach the top of mine. But after figuring out the height adjustment it did reach my shoulders and I'm 6 feet tall. Both my 5' 7" wife and I really enjoy this chair and all its features. ... show more

I bought this for my spouse and she uses it everyday now. On top of that, my daughter also uses it everyday, so it is safe to say it gets a lot of use. They enjoy it, but would have liked more program options. You can control all of the settings and make your own approach to massages, but it only has one actual program and the program does a better job then trying your own manual adjustment.
