Used this to pull tension on a tree before felling so that it would fall the correct way. It worked very well and was fairly simple to operate. When I first started using it, I pulled on the tree much harder than needed and could hear it tree creaking under the load. I then had to figure out how to back it off while under load. This action requires flipping the direction leaver and backing it off one arm swing at a time. This was a bit harder to do then when pulling it tight. So I made sure not to pull the next trees quite so hard. I also used it to help pull a broken lawn tractor on to my trailer to take it for service. The mechanism works great and is reasonably easy to use. It's heavy duty and seems solid. The hooks are heavy duty, but the actual space inside is very small; the opening is only about 1.7cm, but if you want the gate to close the max diameter it can hook to is about 1.1 cm. Also the cable is about 7 ft but it doubles back on itself so the max reach from hook to hook is actually only about 4ft. Overall well built but limited utility due the size ... show more

I thought this was a gag gift. It is so light and bends so easily. The only thing I can think of for this is wall art. Not to be used for any thing over 5 pounds. Spend you money elsewhere.
