I purchased this for a trip to the Atacama Desert, where I'd be going from Spring to Winter conditions on the daily but also needed to fit everything in a carry on suitcase and a small backpack. This windbreaker fit in the rain cover pocket of my backpack with the raincover so it took up no space in my luggage at all. The size fit perfectly and the quality is what you expect from Columbia. The zipper was smooth no matter how many times I traded it out for my other jacket. And it was durable. This jacket went through a lot in 15 days. I bought this online when I didn't like the price in stores and the price online was much more to my taste, but the same jacket, so I'd say I got excellent value for the money. It's not warm, so don't mistake it for that; but it does keep the wind off, which can make things worse if you're feeling chilly. I leant it to a traveling companion one night when he had a warm jacket but no windproofing and he said it worked great for him too! ... show more

At first, I wasnt sure about the fit and almost returned it. SO glad I did not! I do get compliments on the jacket all of the time. It is very water resistant which was pretty cool in the last few rainy days. I also really love the way the zipper meets high up on the chin, and the hood stays up, in place, with extra adjustments to tighten it so I doesn't fall down. The pockets being higher up for me is a plus because I'm quite short and most jacket pockets look like they are weighing me down when I put stuff in them.
