I have owned several, if not many, fleeces of various styles. My favorite kind are the 1/4 zip style with pockets. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I also have quite a few products from Columbia, including jackets, fleeces, shirts, shoes, and sandals. Here is what I like/observe about this Columbia 1/4 zip PHG fleece: - It is the quality I expect from Columbia products, with signs of good workmanship throughout. I expect it to last a long time, longer most other brands I have owned. - It fits as expected. I'm a 5'10" 175 lb. man with a dad bod, and I usually order size medium. However, for this fleece I ordered a large because I knew I would mostly be wearing it over other clothes. It fits me great, and I've shown the fit in my photo. - This is my first PHG (Performance Hunting Gear) product from Columbia and my first camo item in many years. I like the feel of the top camo part, which seems like it will be more resistant to rain than my other fleeces. I also like the look of it, even though I don't hunt. - I like having a pocket on the front. The pocket goes all the way across the stomach, and I would prefer two separate pockets, but I'm just glad it has the pocket at all. One of my other Columbia fleeces does not. I also like it that the pocket zips closed. - It has the "drawcord adjustable hem" feature, which is nice for tightening up the waist in certain situations. I noticed that on the PHG portion, some of the wording in the fabric pattern is upside down. My sewist wife says that it is normal in some fabrics with text to have the text facing up and down throughout the pattern so that the sewist doesn't have to worry about making sure the fabric is right side up. I doubt that will bother me at all, but it may bother others.

The print quality of the camo was nice, the fit is really solid, and honestly: there's really no flaws in this garment. Other stuff in this Columbia line I have found to be a mix between OK and great, but this one definitely is on the upper end of that "great" spectrum and a worthy buy.

I love Columbia so was excited to check out this Columbia Men's PHG Fleece Overlay Ii 1/4 Zip. I actually got this for myself (I am a woman) and I really like it! It’s definitely unisex! Comfy, not too thick but personally keeps me warm. I’m a fan of it and may get one in a different style for my husband!
