- INSTALLATION GUIDE: Installation hardware kits are required and sold separately, each D-ring will require one cable rope (DO NOT use nylon ropes, they break easily!!). Connect the other ends of cables to existing poles, trees or wall with shade sail hardware kits, high quality ColourTree hardware kits and cables are strongly recommended for best performance and appearance.

Had this up all summer in the sun to protect my workshop from getting too much sun. It has withstood wind, rain, and direct sunlight just fine. This shade sail allows the light to come in through the window without the sun heating it up.

Works well for shade. We also bought a stainless steel hardware kit with turnbuckles to mount it with. We looked into their custom-sized ones, but those were quite a bit more (ouch), so we just adapted with it being a little larger. Cannot comment on long term longiveity, but the initial look and feel, we are pleased.
