It is recommended to soak the smart seeds in hot water for 10-15 minutes, and squeeze the soil sponge appropriately to make it fully absorb the water, which can be slightly increased to 1 square and 1.6 deep.
- Non-reserved Seed Hole Design: Seed starter plugs use the non-reserved seed hole design. Each one should be soaked to get moisture locked in, and the best part about this is that the soil stays put and doesn’t crumble on you when you do this. They ready for you to drop a seed and be done. They are small at 1 inch each and will need to be put in some sort of holding container still as it does not include. I like the product but think they are a little expensive compared to other options on the market.

I use them with QINIZX 50 Pack 1.77" Garden Net Pots Cups, Slotted Mesh Pot Baskets in my TurboKlone HGC747400 T24 Cloner Turbo Mini Hydroponic Cloning System. They work great and don't clog the system. Tried rockwool first but these are all I use now great results!

These plugs have to be soaked and do not seem to expand much. They are way too small for my 1.5” cups in the hydroponic system.

These worked great for rooting cuttings, I used a humidity dome plus a heating pad. I rooted Salvia, Roses and a few other things.

Very small compared to what I get at the big "G" company that sells seed and garden stuff. May work, but I think I will have to add potting soil to my existing starting tray to fill up the hole. Not like original plugs brought from the big "G" company. Big "G" is a mail order seed company spelled with six letters plus ' s at the end.

...that they DON'T expend like I thought they would. The size they are, is the same they will have once you put them in water. Which wasn't fitting the trails I had for them. They are not easy to do a hole for the seed either, nor to recover the seed to protect it. But once you know that, they're good.
