  • Good sized chunks of coconut shells
This block is made up of good sized chips of coir. The block is extremely compacted so it stores nice and easy but does take a bit of effort to separate if you're not using the whole block. I use a screwdriver to pry off chunks and rehydrate them while leaving the rest of the block in the wrapper. These chips are great for my net pots because the media doesn't wash away if I accidentally add to much water in my reserve. Although the chips are big enough to not fall through the net pots, they are small enough to allow for a good root growth. I've also added them to the bottom of some regular pots to aid in drainage making a moisture wicking layer of medium. A package goes a long way. ... show more

  • High quality fine grain & texture
Size: Coco Bliss, 10lbs
This expands easily and is perfect for mixing with any planting medium due to its fine texture just like peat moss.

  • COIR BLOCK
Size: Coco Bliss, 10lbs
Great growing medium. I mix one block with an 8 quart bag of perlite. It takes about 15 gallons of water to hydrate the block.

  • Makes a great component of seedling soil
Size: Coco Bliss, 10lbs
Use this to make my own seedling/raised bed soil. Works great and seems to be high quality which led to high seedling germination rate.

  • Love for growing hoya plants
The media could not be loaded. I plant all of my hoyas in straight coco husk. I was using a different brand, that I also love but costs a bit more. I decided to try this one and at first was disappointed because their seemed to be a lot of really tiny pieces as well as what I would call coco coir, mixed in with the coco chunks. The other brand I used had a more even size throughout the block. I wasn’t going to not use it though! So I did and to my surprise I actually prefer this brand and have now come back to order a second time. What I love! The size differences in the chips and having some coir in it (not alot, just super tiny pieces and some “dust” that I describe as coco coir). I have found that my hoyas seem to prefer this over the chunkier brand. I pre soak it in a clear bin with water and then it’s good to go! The only downside is there are always white pieces of something in it. Not enough to keep me from buying it or taking a star away. It’s just annoying so when I’m potting I pull them out. ... show more

  • Good product. A sustainable substitute for peat moss.
Size: Coco Bliss, 10lbs
It comes in a nice compact brick which expanded to fill my wheelbarrow when rehydrated. I will probably buy more when needed. It is cheaper than a similar product at the local big box store.

  • Good potting material for orchids.
Coir chunks are generally a valuable potting material for orchids they retain more moisture than bark and are very slow to break down. Problem is that often chunks are too big and need to be cut up. These chunks are about the size of seedling bark which really is perfect since they won’t need to be supplemented with finer stuff that tends to reduce air circulation. ... show more
