I received this rug today. Seems it would be nice to use anywhere in your house. However, "taupe-multi" is not how I would describe the color. Hence the 4 stars. It's more like a beige background with a secondary color of a medium to darker gray in the pattern, and a smattering of a muted rusty-orange color. No taupe that I can see. I don't detect any odor, except maybe the usual Amazon warehouse smell, which usually dissipates after a couple of days. I ordered a "used like new" rug and it does look new; no flaws or evidence of prior use. Great price. I will machine wash it when it starts to look soiled - so my judgement on how that goes is reserved until then. ... show more

This beautiful little rug is a joy to see in the house and would blend with most any decor. It is easy to take care of and does not slide around at all when walked on. Besides staying in place, its texture captures debris wonderfully and the pattern and color do a great job of disguising any debris it has captured until it can be shaken and/or washed out. Though it lays nicely without moving, it is surprisingly light weight and pliable and thin enough to allow the door to easily open and close without touching it. The colors are bright and colorful. As noted in other reviews, there are creases but slowly disappearing through use. Expected better quality and softer material, they are a bit scratchy. All said, they brighten up the entryway and 2 small bathrooms. The fit is perfect in all areas where placed.
