  • Awesomeness ! but needs re-engineering for larger propane tanks & the filter is not great !
Edition: COFFEE
I love this coffee pot - yes, it's a bit slow but as other said - savor the time it's brewing at your campsite watching the sun rise, etc. and then enjoy some amazing HOT coffee ! The coffee is easily as good as anything I've had at home and we have a Techovorm. This is a perfect accessory for car camping or overland vans / RVs. Unfortunately , there are a few issues. The coffee basket itself is its weak point. Finding a filter that actually works is a hassle. Choose the wrong one and you end up with an overflowed mess and coffee everywhere. Why they don't furnish a re-usable filter is beyond me. Unfortunately nothing seems to work on that front so we're stuck with paper filters that are a PAIN. Also - Coleman INSISTS on using its wonky, proprietary connections and hard lines for 1# canisters. Most of us roadies use larger propane tanks and flex hoses - so the connectors the coffee pot comes with are totally useless. Yes, there are adaptors you can use to connect the propane tanks to the 1# fitting on the regulator but you are still stuck with the funny angled hard line which really gets in the way. What Coleman really needs to do is offer a quick disconnect type fitting instead but they will probably never do that so I was able to come up with a nice elegant solution. 1> Order this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KG9BWDM 2> Using a long schrader core removal tool and a pair of needle nose pliers - remove the useless valve in the center of the 1# adaptor - if you do not do this step it will not work 3> CUT the coleman metal hard line that runs between the regulator and fitting approximately 1 inch from the regulator, and 1 inch from the fitting that connects to the coffee pot. Use a tubing cutting tool to keep it clean. 4> Connect a rubber gas line hose - purchased from the auto parts store - that is roughly 6mm in diameter to each of the ends you have left - one at the regulator - one at the fuel adaptor going into the quick pot the hose MUST be tight, but does not need clamps (gas pressure is very low). 5> Finally, connect the adapter you bought in #1 above to the 1# gas can fitting , tighten it very tight , you will not need to remove it again. You are done, and now you have a very nice, flexible , easy to use solution for large propane tanks without the dumb hard line to get in your way. The regulator is at the tank, and very easy to see / vary the gas flow. We have used this now for a month and it works very well. Hope this helps you DIY types out there who get tired of the all the types of propane fittings like i do ! ... show more

Love my coffee and this was perfect for my camping trip.

  • Great Coffee Maker - Allows Me to Set Up the Rest of Breakfast while the Coffee Brews!!!!
Edition: COFFEE
Just brewed my first two pots of coffee with this wonderful coffee maker!! I love this thing and I'm so happy I bought it. My nickname on all camping trips is "The Breakfast Guy" and it is something I Love to do for my friends. I bought this coffee maker for several reasons: 1) I wanted to free up a burner normally devoted to making boiling water - you can never have enough burners 2) Loved the idea of being able to get the coffee going while I'm setting up for the rest of breakfast. Imagine standing over a Melitta filter waiting for the hot water to go through the coffee grounds drip by drip, while you still have the rest of the breakfast to prepare? Fill the coffee grounds, pour in the water, turn on the burner and come back in 15 minutes!!! The people complaining about it taking too long are coffee addicts - I'm not sitting by the coffee maker waiting for that first cup - I've got things to do!!! Also I did try the first cup feature and it works as expected. Like all of my home coffee makers, I may remove all of those parts. It's just something else that can go wrong when you're not looking. Again, I'm not waiting for that first cup to become functional!! Truth is, when you use the first cup feature, it's a REALLY REALLY strong cup of coffee. I like the coffee from a full pot - the flavor needs to be averaged from when the grounds first get wet to when they are drenched - the first cup is just too strong!! I would not use the burner to keep the coffee warm, although you can. It's a waste of precious propane. My coffee usually goes straight into a big Thermos 51 Ounce Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Carafe - I serve a big group and a 10 cup pot won't cut it. What I'm planning to do is pour the boiled water that I use to preheat the Thermos carafe (recommended to extend the hot coffee time), into the coffee maker for the 2nd pot. That should speed up the brew time!! Also be warned, this coffee maker is carefully crafted sheet metal surrounding a 4500 BTU propane burner. EVERYTHING under the coffee pot (front and back) is extremely HOT!!!! Have a great cup of coffee in the great outdoors!! ... show more

  • Used for a camping trip.
Edition: COFFEE
I used this for a camping trip and it worked great. As others have said there was no bag included and I must say that would’ve been nice to have. It made a few cups of coffee that were hot during our trip that was nice to have by the fire. I didn’t have any leaks during the first use and the size of it is a little larger than a regular Mr coffee pot. The design worked well for what it is. ... show more
