  • Sat in the chair a few times, the edging/sewing along the stress point of the chair split.
Color: Black and Red
I like Coleman products and this seemed like a good product. It still could be if the company would or could reInforce heavy duty sewing at the stress point for sitting. (If possible) The weight limit is 250lbs……none of us weight 250 lbs.

  • Comfortable to seat not so much to haul around
Color: Deep Ocean (Blue)
This rocking camping chair is a real joy. It's big and comfy. Easy to fold and unfold. Robust yet not heavy The main issue is its size. Though it folds sort of flat it's still take quite the space. Not a big issue if you are not limited with space but would be other wise Regardless, it's still a family favorite to take on trips ... show more

  • REI has a better chair IMO but some like this over my REI chair.
Color: Deep Ocean (Blue)
A few years back I got 2 REI Co-op Kingdom Rocker chairs which probably retailed for about the same as this Coleman chair ~$120. They have similarities but a bit of a different setup/breakdown process. Those chairs had a top back bar that unhooks on 1 side and pivots to be up/down direction and then allows for the back of the chair (2 independent hinging poles) to be pressed from the back to the front to initiate the collapse of the backrest. Once done you can fold up the sides and there is a strap with a clip that latches around the collapsed chair to keep it together and also act as a nice carrying handle. With this Coleman chair, I've got to give it to them, the setup and take down is a bit simpler. When setup you just push the top back bar in from back to front of the chair. This collapses the bar and also gets the back rest folding down. Once done, there is a little simple level like a A-Frame ladder would have to pop that small piece up and collapse the chair in half. Then simply clasp the little buckle that will keep the chair cinched shut when stored. Note this method in comparison to our REI chairs doesn't offer a convenient and balanced carrying handle. But I give props to Coleman on the slightly quicker setup/breakdown process with how they engineered the chair. In terms of comfort, I like this less but my wife likes it more than our REI chairs. They may be about the same sitting height but this chair has a more upright back rest position and perhaps a more taught seat giving a bit more support on your knees. While she likes, it, I find that this is a bit too upright for me even if I then lean back by pressing my feet into the ground to tilt the chair back on the rocker. If I were camping or spending long times around a fire in one of these chairs, my preference would be my REI chair. But when I pop one up in the back yard while the kids are playing, this Coleman one is more than find and the quick option for me to use. For the price I think it's fair but I really wish REI was still selling those chairs so I could offer a better price comparison. Coleman is a brand I use but I don't view them as high end camping. I think this chair is likely to last long or even outlast my REI chairs given the fabric materials used for this chair are thicker and may hold up on the stitching. Or certainly if a hot ember pops from the camp fire, this might be a tad more resilient than when one burned through the thin breathable fabric used on our REI rockers. I'd much rather buy a chair like this than those real chunky foldable rockers with pistons and such. But I wouldn't recommend this style chair on the beach. It might hold you in the sand but you wouldn't be rocking... ... show more

  • Unique, Comfy, a Tad Pricey
Color: Deep Ocean (Blue)
Coleman's outdoor rocking chair is unique! It has a mild rocking chair feature. It has much better back support than your run of the mill camping chair. It also has a wider place for your bottom! It folds and unfolds easily, locking in place. CONS: It's harder to carry than standard camping chairs. Our carry strap broke within a week. Also, $120 is pricey. Personally, I'd like to see that drop about $40. But if it lasts a few years, it might be worth it. ... show more

  • So comfy!
Color: Deep Ocean (Blue)
This is such a great comfortable chair. Everywhere we go we get compliments on it and anyone who sits in it says it's amazing. It's a bit tricky to figure out how to fold it the first time but once you get it easy. It doesn't quite fold a small as normal camp chairs, But it folds pretty narrow so you can store it in a small space behind furniture or up against a wall. The Rocking feature is really nice but it really only works on a hard surface like concrete. ... show more

  • It’s comfy and rocks well
Color: Deep Ocean (Blue)
I ordered this chair for camping with my family. I love the idea of having a rocking chair especially with 3 small kids. The first thing I noticed about this chair is that the seat is nice and wide. I could easily have a child sit next to me on the chair. The pipes and seat material both seem very sturdy and the rocking mechanism seems like it will hold up well. It was plenty sturdy for my young kids to climb in and out of without it tipping or anything. I first tried this out on my hardwood floors and noticed it slid all around while rocking but on the cement and in the grass it doesn’t move at all. The cup holder that stays level when rocking is a cool feature too although it is fairly small, basically a soda can size. One of my complaints is that the “armrests” are in way to low of a position to actually be arm rests. I couldn’t get my arms to rest on them even if I tried. They’re basically just support for the chair. I went back to the details to make sure and they definitely call them armrests so that’s a bit misleading. In a perfect world I would love for this to have a head rest as well but most camping chairs don’t. The photos also made it look super low to the ground but trying it out It didn’t feel as low as it looked and I’m ok with the height. It is super easy to set up and collapse back down and I like that it has a buckle to keep it in the close position which is relatively flat. It kind of looked like the cover might come off for cleaning but it does not. I was pretty happy with this chair and asked my husband to sit in it and see what he thought and he immediately jumped up and said “nope not for me”. He thinks it puts his back/posture into a weird position. I’m not sure what the different is between he and I. We weight about the same and he is 5’10” and I’m 5’7” but thought I would mention that it might not be as comfortable for different body shapes/types. I don’t think I will be purchasing any more but it’s a nice chair for what it is. ... show more
