I researched just about every ice chest out there. I got caught up in the yeti trend. I even looked at products similar to Yeti. Then I remembered my childhood. Simple ice chests were involved in all the wonderful memories I have. I recently took this ice chest fishing in 85 degree temps. I put one small bag of ice in it with some cold drinks and had cold beverages all day for my friends and I. Did it matter if it stayed cold for 5-7 days? For me no. When I got home, I dumped out some water and about half a bag of ice. If you’re a hunter, and you need to drive a thousand miles with what you’ve killed on ice, and you can’t stop to freshen up the ice when you get fuel, then yeah, buy an ice chest that costs five times as much. I’m not Walt Disney, so I don’t worry about cryogenically freezing my cold drinks. This ice chest is solid, and for about a month, it out performs what I expect. I price shopped local box stores and the price I got this at beat the prices of the competition. I had shipping issues in the past, but amazon made it right. Plenty of people love the black finish too.

The solid ice lasted about 3 days. It still had icy water for my water and soda though. Everybody told me I would need to spend money on a Yeti if I wanted to have ice for 4 days, but for way less, this did great.

I bought this on Prime Day. There was no way I was spending hundreds of dollars on a cooler. This seemed like a reasonable alternative since I don't need to keep things cold for days. I used this the first time yesterday. Got home over 24 hours ago. Set it in my (warm) garage with the cover OPEN so the ice could melt before I dump it. The ice is still not melted. Despite being wide open. So would more than exceed my expectations if it were shut! Edit: I don't know what the people who say their ice melted in one day with the cooler shut were doing. My garage was at least 80 degrees and it took two bags of ice over 24 hours to melt with the cover wide open. Photo above.

So far this has been great. It keeps ice for 2-3 days when closed. Seems very well made and has been great keeping food/drinks cold for longer than needed for multiple day events with constant opening. My only drawback are the hinges. They plastic connections that look very flimsy. I can't see this last very long with any kind of constant opening or getting a little rough with it. Probably easy to replace the hinges but I was disappointed to feel like the lid is going to fall off every time I open it. Time will tell... Update 11/2019 2 years after regular use in summer and tailgating and this thing has been a champ. NO issues what so ever including the hinges I was suspect about. They have held well and show no signs of wear. We haven’t abused this cooler but also have not “baby-d” it either and it held up to it all. Keeps ice for 2 days no problem and has been fantastic for a weekend trip. $300 for a Yeti if you plan to be in the bush for a week. If not, like most of us, this MADE IN USA cooler has been nothing but great. Highly recommend

For the price this item cannot be beat it is very sturdy I would trust a 300 pound person sitting on it. Much larger than I expected. The handles for carrying are obviously meant for a two person carry . Took several pictures take a look

Good for the money,but even better with mods.. If you place a flashlight inside the cooler and close the lid you'll notice Light shining from the lid seal(thats because the lid is warped). I just add a self adhesive weather seal. It's going inside my teardrop camper so I upgraded to ss hinges. @$54 i cant complain. U.s manufacturer's have to keep costs down to stay competitive

The claim that this cooler keeps ice for up to 6 days, is LEGIT. I loaded this cooler up on Thursday morning as we were going camping. Sunday night when I returned home, the ice had barely melted. The daily temperature during our camping trip was average 75-80 degrees. Cooler was in the sun most of the time. Since Sunday, I have left it in the sun, (90 degree average temp.), to see how long the ice would last. After 6 days, still has enough ice to cool food or drinks. See attached photos. One with plastic still on 20lb blocks is from Sunday night when I got home. Picture with plastic removed is from Tuesday night. I started out with (4) 10lb blocks of ice and (1) 20lb bag of ice cubes. This morning (Wednesday), was the sixth day and the ice is still there. I'm surely going to buy another one. This cooler is well worth the money!
