As they state, it is a balance between metal and paper filtering in terms of silt coming through. However, because these aren't rigid like a metal filter, they are hard to clean. With a metal filter, you can just bang it against the trash/compost and then rinse it out. With these, it is a whole ordeal of inverting them and brushing them out before rinsing and drying them. Too much effort for too little gain. I'll stick with metal for reusable filters

Really like these, but I always detect a hint of sharpness that I don't get with regular pourover. I never wash it with soap, only hot water and even once with baking soda, but that flavor never changes. I even boiled the filters in plain water thinking that would help, but still no change. I will continue to use it and I still recommend them because I know some people like their coffee a bit on the brighter side.

Best of both worlds with this. Get that thicker oily rich texture out of certain beans that just gets grabbed up by a paper filter but retain that amazing depth of flavor and control of a pour over. I'm incredibly lazy and this is easy to clean, takes all of 1 min. Store in the freezer to be super sure it's not getting funky and your golden.

The cloth filter, for me, is a wonderful compromise between paper and metal filters. Coffee has more body which I like. Flavors are more pronounced. I also enjoy the savings and waste reduction as I brew several v60 pour overs each day.

I bought four filters thinking I would need a full day for the filter to dry between cleaning. I could get by with two or even one. They are easy to clean, dry quickly, the filter time is just as good (if not better) than disposable, they leave no after taste. I will only use disposable if I have company because these could be off putting on first sight.

Saves us so much money, easy to clean, and no more filters in land fill or in our compost! (We used 100% biodegradable filters before this item) Do not put “normal” coffee filter in your compost. They contain plastic fibers.
