This is a disappointing warmer. I know it is not called a "hotter" but it certainly could do a better job. It has two settings. I use the "hotter" one but it still does not keep the coffee close to very warm. I bought it to replace a years-old mug warmer. That one really keeps the coffee warm and even hot as the level gets below half a cup. I am someone who likes to sip my coffee over a couple of hours. I saw this and it has an automatic shut off feature (after 8 hours) which I though could be good since I often forget to turn off the other. I come back in the morning only to find it still on. Afraid of starting a fire so I got this new one. I know some of the reviews mentioned does not keep it very hot. But so many reviews said that, I just had to start ignoring that as a factor. Besides, with my old one I used to keep a lid over the coffee to keep it hotter. And as the level got down lower, I would have to keep the lid off because it would get too hot. I continued to use a lid with this one and it is NECESSARY in order to keep the temperature of the coffee from becoming tepid. This is so disappointing. I know it recommends to use a flat bottomed cup. But so did many other mfgs. And since I used a lid, I figured it would compensate. Well, flat bottomed cups are not really very common. Look at all of yours. There is usually at least a little ridge that keeps the bottom of most cups from completely touching the surface. I did not have any problem with the old one. But now, using the same cups I always have, it is not doing the job. So, as many other reviewers warned, unless you like warm (not 'very' warm, just warm) coffee, take a shot with another brand. Morning tea is the way to go to get my busy work schedule going. I usually don’t drink my cup of tea at one go (typically takes about couple of hours to finish the cup before I refill it with hot water), and usually that means cold tea before I actually finish the cup. But with this device, I’m able to enjoy the cup of tea at the right warm temperature each time & each sip. Especially during winter times. Very easy to use, just tap & it’s on. Tap tap again & it’s off. There are two temperatures depending on how hot you want your cup of tea or coffee to be. Either way, enjoyable and not to worry about cold teas on a cold day. Tested this with every standard ceramic mug in my extensive collection, and it worked with none of them. Mugs do not have fully flat bottoms! The unit does heat if you find something with a truly flat bottom: A small ceramic scented wax heater, placed on the surface, did melt. I tested it with 2 different-aged 2-cup pyrex measuring cups. I covered them with rubbermaid lids during the test. One worked poorly, and the slightly higher ridge of the other pyrex rendered that useless as well. Now, all that said, IF you already have one of the kinds of modified ceramic mugs that comes with a its own heater AND HAS A CHIP BUILT INTO THE MUG for the wireless to activate, you CAN use this base as an 'extra' location to be able to move from one area of the home to another without having to unplug and carry the heater as well. It WILL heat your specialized mug purchased from a different manufacturer. But you can buy other 'heater only' bases for $5 less than the $20 this cost, that also work with real household mugs. Not a winner. I threw out the box, so I will just keep 'eat the loss' of $20. ... show more

I always like to sip on a cup of coffee or tea throughout my workday, but it takes me forever to finish a cup, and most of the time, by the time I’m halfway through, the coffee/tea is cold. This product is perfect for people like me, and I like the way it looks in my desk — very minimal and sleek. I was a little worried because the instructions say to use a cup with a flat bottom, and all of my mugs are slightly raised around the bottom perimeter, but it still did its job of keeping my drink warm (but not too hot). I have bought several cup warmers for my office over the last few years. All have been a disappointment until I received my Diviniti warmer. Designed in California and manufactured in the PRC, it's worth the price and is working just fine with a regular ceramic mug.

I often have long days of work where I have to be in and out of the office for long periods of time. Like most other people who work, I need my coffee. But because I'm in and out for so long, my coffee gets cold. I'd resort to microwaving my coffee, but it just wouldn't taste the same as it did in the morning. Then I found this mug warmer; it's a huge game changer. It keeps my coffee warm at a comfortable level without overheating it like the microwave does. The mug warmer has two settings, a blue one and a red one. The blue one keeps the mug warmer at a lower temperature, but in my opinion it just keeps the coffee lukewarm. The red setting keeps my coffee hot/warm at the perfect level. The best part is that the mug warmer can be left alone for 8 hours at which point it'll turn off on its own. I had a business meeting with my boss where we had to leave our office for the entire day, and when I came back, my coffee was still at the perfect temperature.
