I typically don't write product reviews until I've used it for about a month or more. This is an exception because I'm so in love with this item. There are many cup warmers all over AZM. I chose this one for several reasons: Simplicity. Low, high, off. Badda boom, badda bing. Easy. Flat surface is next. Some units have a recessed surface which is probably a great feature if all your coffee cup are the same size (mine are not) and they fit snuggly into the area. All of the units that I looked at, including this one recommend using cups with a flat bottom & relatively thin bottom. Mine are all flat but my coffee cups were made by a local crafts person & the bottoms are at least twice as thick as a mass produced cup. Never the less it keeps my coffee piping hot. At this point I've only used the low heat setting and that does the job well. The surface on the unit gets very hot on low. Be smarter than me and don't touch it to check. It does not get red when heated. So I give this proctor 5 big, bright, shiny stars! Try it, I think you'll love it too.

I really wanted to like this device for keeping tea and coffee hot while at work, but this wasn't the case. As several other reviews stated, it keeps the drink warm and not hot. I would use the word "warm" loosely as it is borderline lukewarm and room temperature. I followed instructions and used a flat surface mug and used the red (high) setting and no improvement. **Update*** The company contacted me to learn more about my experience and suggested I use the silicone lid provided on top of my mug to ensure the air does not cool the beverage down. I gave it a try and this corrected my issue. So while using the lid my beverage stayed hot!

This is a disappointing warmer. I know it is not called a "hotter" but it certainly could do a better job. It has two settings. I use the "hotter" one but it still does not keep the coffee close to very warm. I bought it to replace a years-old mug warmer. That one really keeps the coffee warm and even hot as the level gets below half a cup. I am someone who likes to sip my coffee over a couple of hours. I saw this and it has an automatic shut off feature (after 8 hours) which I though could be good since I often forget to turn off the other. I come back in the morning only to find it still on. Afraid of starting a fire so I got this new one. I know some of the reviews mentioned does not keep it very hot. But so many reviews said that, I just had to start ignoring that as a factor. Besides, with my old one I used to keep a lid over the coffee to keep it hotter. And as the level got down lower, I would have to keep the lid off because it would get too hot. I continued to use a lid with this one and it is NECESSARY in order to keep the temperature of the coffee from becoming tepid. This is so disappointing. I know it recommends to use a flat bottomed cup. But so did many other mfgs. And since I used a lid, I figured it would compensate. Well, flat bottomed cups are not really very common. Look at all of yours. There is usually at least a little ridge that keeps the bottom of most cups from completely touching the surface. I did not have any problem with the old one. But now, using the same cups I always have, it is not doing the job. So, as many other reviewers warned, unless you like warm (not 'very' warm, just warm) coffee, take a shot with another brand. It is a nice, sleek unit. It is easy to turn on and off. UPDATE 1/6/22 This has been a disappointment. I have downgraded the rating from three stars to one. It only keeps the last inch or less in the cup somewhat hot. There are two settings and I only use the highest one because the lower one is useless. You also have to keep a lid on the cup, otherwise you'll have lukewarm coffee (or tea) in no time. I will be purchasing another warmer to replace this one, as I cannot take my coffee becoming tepidly warm in no time.

I've been using basic $10 mug/candle warmers, which weren't doing a great job, so I decided to splurge and try this item, hoping the higher temperature setting would do the trick. And no, it works just as well/poorly as the cheap warmers. It does look nicer, but that's it. I believe the type of mug is the key. Every mug we own has the typical concave ceramic bottom, and I have to assume a flat bottom would work better. Finding such a mug is a challenge, though. This warmer does come with a silicone cup cover, and I've found that these makes a big difference. However, I already had cup covers, so still nothing gained with this purchase. So if you want to pay more for style, go for it. If you're looking for functionality, go with one of the basic versions at a third of the price.

This works so well and is sleek and not bulky! The only thing is it almost looks like a phone charging station that you set your phone down on so for guests you may want to clarify what it is so they don’t fry their phone.
