My friend and I are both visually impaired and we live far from each other. We keep in touch by making speaking onto cassette tapes and then passing them back and forth to each other. My friend needed a new cassette recorder, so I purchased this and had it sent to her. She reports that it is working out fairly well. She says the external mic jack does not fit the mic she had around the house, but that the internal mic works ok. She says the playback sound is a little weak, so she needs to turn the volume way up.     • Auto stop does not function
This is an average audio cassette player. Fine for listening to my old audio books on tape. The BIG problem is that the AUTO-STOP DOESN'T WORK. These are old tapes and if I fall asleep while listening, they are apt to be ruined. No damage so far....

The boxed tape player was in a envelope from Amazon and was a bit wrinkled. The box is a little damaged and the plastic piece broke from the corner. Still functional but a little disappointed that I have to make a fix right out of the box.
